  1. hilarious!
  2. I would say... NO! The splash-screen merely need be a compelling image made with A:M... impress us!
  3. Nothing to say... it's all there! Great work to JimD and Nancy!
  4. There are bars here in Detroit where you can go and have a beer and do lots of studying... Seriously though... there are differing opinions on 'beauty' and the female figger... I recommned looking for a model posted a few years back by Serg2... his opinion parallels my own... and the girls at the bars here in Detroit.
  5. I am quite sure that FastAO does work with reflections. There is a free version and a BETTER renderer version for $50, for V16/32 and 16/64.
  6. More great tests! What next... rag doll physics?
  7. They say... 'audio is half the picture'... I think your foley work there adds a LOT to the animation, GREAT WORK, jimd!
  8. Wow, JimD--- pretty good! I am away from my sound library over the weekend and have sudden travel plans this week... can you take a look at Spleene's 3 clips by any chance?
  9. It's Spleens, Paul Harris and Glenn's right? Chris Dailey's and dblhelix's is done? I went looking for the source file links... found some of Spleenes Youtube links but I can't download from Youtube and don't know if its finalized. Where would we find these movie files that need sound design?
  10. The old crumudgeon here... do yourself a BIG favor... don't use outdated software and wonder why it does not give you updated results. It's like running Windows95, and wondering why it's so hard to connect it to a network when everyone else using Win7 has no problems. There has been a lot of updates to A:M since 13... a LOT. It's worth the expense especially if you are using advanced features.
  11. Yes, a 'morey' is needed. A morey (don't know if I am spelling it right) is an illusion created when 2 patterns move upon each other. I see a morey everytime I drive under a pedestrian overpass, and the 2 chainlink fence patterns that line the overpass create a moving illusion...I am easily entertained. anyways- Basically, in your case, you would need to make a piece of art that could just be a 'scribble' in Photoshop... literally a scribble(with alpha). Bring it into A:M as a layer and place it in front of the lights and give it a little clockwise rotation... now bring another instance/layer in to the same place and rotate this one counter-clockwise. The negative effect they will have on your lights should give the lights a nice 'city at night' twinkle effect. All this assuming you are working in a black scene. Adjust scribble line thickness and rotation speeds to taste. Results may vary. Subject to sales tax. That is an old film trick.
  12. Quite an accomplishment! I hope it brings you a nice little windfall! Yes, that was really kept quiet... AND what a list of superstar talent, must be some great animation in there. ON THE TRAILER, there was one scene that looked like a sore thumb...or rather an orphan... the 3 wigwam's or tents scene just didn't seem to belong to a scene post or prior... other than that...!
  13. Png is not really a compressed format at all, is it? BTW-Anyone messed with the animated png format yet?
  14. That's a fun looking little gremlin! Great minimal splinesmanship... don't worry about not too many replies- we have lots of lurkers on this forum.
  15. Great findings. Really. Would a possible future feature request be that features like Simcloth (among others) have multiple 'defaults'... for instance, the default settings that the progammer(s) initially set the feature at BUT have an option box for: -Robs 'stiff' pants preset. -Matts 'velvet curtain' preset. -Dangling hair tuft preset. -etc
  16. We are kiddin ya, bro. We love that stuff, turn that spell-chenker back off!
  17. I'm happy to see you turn to the forum for some help with design work, Jason- excellent move. I hope we don't disappoint you.
  18. Actually, that mesh is much denser than I thought it would be! Rob, can you elaborate a little more on the settings? Just a high stiffness value?
  19. Dude...seriously... you are on to something here... two words of advice- ZIGN TRACK. (A:M Track facial motion-capture software.)
  20. When it comes time to weight and rig your character, a nice and economical splineage makes things easier... but sometimes in animation as you flex your character around you might wish you had used more splines here and there. Most of us learn by making tons of overkill patches, and as you progress and learn what is really needed you eventually become more and more conservative and minimal.
  21. Firstly... I laughed out loud at that... secondly, MAN! Thats some great simulated pants!
  22. Pretty cool... didn't I already see this movie in 5th grade?
  23. Very cool! Hey, you should try making the hair 'cloth' like in Robcats tests...give it some dynamics!
