  1. I have a 'trick' involving using a 'gradient combiner' material that makes for a good fast rendering volumetric spotlight... I will look for it...
  2. Wowwwww.... great sh*t! I hope you mascot that! I look forward to more! I really like the doilee-dew on his kneecaps!
  3. I could see that a-winnin! Make sure you follow the specified parameters for image size, file type etc. (I'm sure you will)
  4. Yes, an editor will replace the imagery in the middle of the spot, as well as add the URL and phone nuber at the tail... this is an unfinished spot... in-fact, they have already specified many changes on me... which is bad because they are WAY over budget and the changes are superfluos/unwarranted...
  5. Check out this tattoo! http://www.break.com/pictures/this-will-co...ite-you-1984509
  6. Hey, great sky! Tell us how you made those clouds! WELCOME!
  7. A "bee's-eye-view' of a pollen collection... very good! I'm sure you will find great alternative kaleidoscopic uses for hair.
  8. of course it's spelled differently.... HOW DO I EMBED THE VIDEO INTO THE FORUM?... I've tried copy/pasting the embed code from AMFilms... it just shows the text, it's supposed to show the video here on the forum, no?
  9. http://amfilms.hash.com/video/389/Lush-Lawn-TV-commercial This TV spot turned-out well... made in Animation:Master and Adobe After Effects. It is for a small local company called 'Lush Lawn'... and there was NO script or storyboard. The client just gave me a list of visuals... like this: CLIENT: First, we see Gary in front of a map of Michigan... I'll just do that in post with a map image... ME: No, no... I have a nice 3D model of the region already... you'll like it. CLIENT: Then he zooms into Grand Blanc and joins the logo and we see his nameplate... to introduce him. THEN he sinks into the soil and makes the grass grow... then we see examples of lawns that we have from our library... then he gets into a FIGHT and kicks ass on weeds, grubbbs and and then a-a-a- DRAGON! To show all the evils that a lawn can produce... yeah! a DRAGON! ME: Okay... I don't have a dragon... I suppose I can make one (laughs to self thinking of the 'make dragon button' joke)... but let's remember now... Gary is just a HEAD... he has no arms or legs- so he will just have to 'head butt' these things and make them disappear... really quickly. All particles done in AE with Trapcode Particular. Because of the low-budget and quick turnaround... I used the 'feck-off-and-die' method for lip-synch. A colleague of mine had me make my character say this and we discovered that by repeating it over-n-over it 'loosely' fit with just about any (fast talking) dialogue for lip-synch!
  10. It's clear to see that with this character... you have risen to the next level- congratulations Gene! Keep the quality into the body!
  11. there's something ...creepy about that one... You have been testing with monkey-heads and jello... I think I see where you are heading.
  12. was 'workbook' mode available in 12? Maybe not. I have grown quite accustomed to using it.
  13. I've been tinkering (fondling, actually) with the hair feature for years... but this is basically default hair with modifications for color, thickness, length and dynamics turned ON with Collision-Detection. What's REALLY fun about that last one is that ALL the motion of the girl is derived from dynamic secondary action from the bull's animation... (except for the head looking at camera)
  14. THANKS Shawn! Great working with you, and that's NO BULL! And of course... there's the 'directors cut', just for fun mind you. To warm-up an otherwise cold day... LOTS of dynamics going on here... also DOF effect by rendering depth map out of A:M and using 'fast blur' in After Effects to add a fore and aft 'focal plane' effect... something I am experimenting with... 15. Great designing!
  16. On the 'critique' side of things... if you were to dig into the keyframes after the cloth sim you could eliminate the preliminaryl jiggle on the lower cube so it is entirely static until impacted by the other.
  17. I'm not saying you 'nailed' it... but when I watch that... I taste lime.
  18. CREEPS ME OUT! (I guess that means... GREAT!)
  19. I put a real nice snow project in the Contributors Cue, you could use or refer to.
  20. ... and you have tinkered with the stiffness settings? Rob recommends a stiffness value up around 1000.
  21. If you forget to set the 'Compensate Mode' trick, then simply open the 'aim-at' constraint and enter a value of 0,0,0 to all of the offsets... this is the way I always do it because I fell into the bad habit of NEVER using Compensate Mode.
  22. That illustrates how valuable JohnL3D's experiments are... that was way back in ought8 John tried using cloth for softbody's in that 'jello-esque' test... and the next comment was Rob saying 'I'm surprised that works'... and bingo- the seed is planted for Rob's later incredible SimCloth softbody advances.
  23. Can you put a piece of fruit in the middle of it?
  24. Let's hope they change that shift schedule back... JUST KIDDING! Looks like game graphics... how do you play?
  25. I don't remember the movie... but I DO remember the MAD Magazine version of it... they finally catch up to the Tbird at the end to see who the beautiful girl is... and it is RINGO STARR...
