  1. Terry-------really looking awesome.
  2. Sometimes just going through threads like this make you learn so much on things you never knew .
  3. First Off ---Welcome. Hope you are enjoying checking out AM and the forum here. I have to say it may be one of the best 3d forums going. Almost every question posted here gets answered within one day for sure and most within hours. And more importantly -----folks are happy to help and share their knowledge . No matter how new you are or your own expertise. Beginers are always welcome. So have fun here. Don't be shy either ---register up and join the party. Post some questions, models, or pics whatever. We all would love to get to see some new names enjoying AM.
  4. Now that was pretty impressive.
  5. ah 20,000 leagues under an AM sea......nice model Ben -- looking really nice so far. keep it coming.....AM needs a good sea story.
  6. David----nice one. Looks very nice indeed. So Sintel AM style would be pretty fantastic. Smiles.
  7. Nice beginnings Rodney------ venture forward step by step as you can.
  8. In 3d animation --render spreed is so crucial. Taking each frame and multiplying the savings per frame over a 4 minute short is one thing. But factor in the amount of renders never used but needed to be done and you can see how amazing that kind of speed bump that Simon indicates would make you very happy to acheive. Kudos to Steffen !!!
  9. Steve--- I think for sss critique might be more helpful to get a close-up or at least closer as from this distance it looks good but I even look good from that distance. Smiles.
  10. Will, It is just a delay not a derailment . I could only wish for a nickle for every plan that did not pan out in the first try.
  11. Mark --very nice hair indeed. Have to say it looks very natural --so kudos. You obviously are making the most of your scarce free time.
  12. Indeed a sassy model, Steve. Now you are trying to walk with high heels (So degree of difficulty is 1.5) but most of what is started there looks pretty good. It does seem the last step with the left leg is crossing over a tad much towards the right leg but it might be just the angle.
  13. Lloyd ---I think you may be on to something.....................
  14. Sorry Dan-----I am not getting it yet either. But heck --who does not like suspense.
  15. I would enjoy a ride on either version. Awesome work in both cases Rodger . now if you twist my arm and make me pick ----yep 2013 looks better. But if they were not side to side ----independently I would have said ---wow --nice job.
  16. Very nice sebastian---cute and lovable characters
  17. Ah......well you know we sometimes get fooled by amazing work. Smiles . But not the first time was fooled.
  18. sebastian-- well done. Fine work indeed.
  19. Marcos -----you take AM to places few folks have visited. Awesome stuff man. Amazing realism. Off the charts!!! All I can say is ----WOW.
  20. good luck Lloyd---- one quick thing ---that first image you have there right now is a tad dark. (at least on my setup). You might lighten it a tad.
  21. Douglas, Good first attempt to follow barry's videos----I cannot be much coach as my modeling skills are still pretty poor but something to keep in mind are just some simple lines ---like for instance our shoulders and arms are rather smooth transition --so one simple improvement is to level off the difference from the shoulder to arm making it more a straightline. But like I said I am not one to cast any judgements -----and bravo for posting your efforts ---a lot more courage than I have had. So kudos and keep going.
  22. looks pretty cool to me already Lloyd--- and I even like the lighting ---kind of scary mood like something is about to happen or just did. Smiles
  23. I have one win 8 machine -------its really sad how hard they make it to find the things you feel comfortable with before. I hope they come out with a 8.1 where you can ditch metro front screen all together. If you do not have a touch screen its pretty lame anyhow.
  24. Smiles-----and thanks from me as well David-------never know who you help when you post an response. I might have seen this a while ago but since forgotten -----one of the blessings of getting older is everyday is so new.
  25. Paul , most of the folks in this conversation I do not think are blaming anyone for anything. For a community mostly made up of hobbyist who have real jobs and real responsibilities --this rl thing will and does sometimes make doing anything creative difficult . The fact that some folks start something and cannot complete and others take over -----is just the way it is. It is actually expected not a surprise for anyone who has been around the block just once. I think you are right in saying learn from mistakes, and guess what --even then there will be more anyhow. Its just the way things go. And as far as community projects ---its not just so simple to have anyone stand up and say lets do this because I can volunteer my time etc. ---It kind of takes a village maybe a whole town to make a project. Smiles. And community project ---in itself is a misnomer. Its not like the community is one. It's a splintered mix of talents , ideas , and availabilities. At best you can have a group project --for those who can in all that "can" means. But--- in the end it almost always will take a driving force of at least a few especially talented folks to make anything significant happen as indeed reality sucks.
