Grubber Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Hi! As usual I got nervous while texturing my cow so I made this car model. It's not finished, I am going to add more detail and maybe some guns. And wireframe: Quote
pixelmech Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Cool! Dude, you can whip up models with the best of em' Like to see this one with some textures etc. What do you mean you got 'nervous' texturing your cow? Quote
Dhar Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Car with guns? I thought it was a futuristic street sweeper! Either way, it's a very appealing design. Quote
D.Joseph Design Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 I don't see any car photos. Did you run out of bandwidth or move the image files? Quote
gschumsky Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Great splinage too! Are you using Yves skylight or the web based one for your lighting? Quote
Admin Rodney Posted March 25, 2005 Admin Posted March 25, 2005 Pov, People are going to have to make a study of your design, splining, texturing and lighting techniques. Most awesome! Quote
nerrazzi Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Love the lighting man, and beautiful modeling! Is there a link to that skylight? Quote
D.Joseph Design Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Ah! Now I see the photos. Awesome car! I'd like one of these! It'd also make a great RC car. Quote
John Bigboote Posted March 26, 2005 Posted March 26, 2005 NICE! The cockpit looks like a BIG TOE! CRITIQUE: Some of the edges look a little 'play-doh-ey' perhaps a hard edge here or there would help. LOVE the coil springs! Nice work! Quote
Grubber Posted March 26, 2005 Author Posted March 26, 2005 thank you mates, nerrazzi, here it is http://www.ypoart.com/Downloads/Skylights.htm Quote
Grubber Posted March 26, 2005 Author Posted March 26, 2005 I modified the model a bit and made this test render Quote
Admin Rodney Posted March 26, 2005 Admin Posted March 26, 2005 oooooooooo..... Shiny! Hey... where is the engine in that thing? Quote
D.Joseph Design Posted March 26, 2005 Posted March 26, 2005 Sweet! What metal material is that? Quote
Grubber Posted March 26, 2005 Author Posted March 26, 2005 Sweet! What metal material is that? material? I just set reflectivity to 75% and tested Jeff Lee's Skylight utility http://www.shipbrook.com/jeff/animas/skylight/ Perhaps is a kinetic energy car. hmmm... Yeah, that's it! Quote
ypoissant Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Really nice model. I like your other models, like your cow too. That bicycle is full of mechanical details which adds to its believability. For your chrome shot, I woull add a skydome with gradient from deep blue at zenith to white at horizon, to act as reflective cue. This should give your model, or at least the whashed white reflection part, a much more 3D feel. Even if you add color to some part, the nice gradient of such a skydome will add nice visual depth and curvature cues. Also, switch your main light from z-buffer to multi-ray raytrace shadows. The regularly blured shadow doesn't give enough support to your model. Quote
Kamikaze Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Cool....it looks by the shape of it that it could possiably morph? into another look.. Michael Quote
Grubber Posted March 28, 2005 Author Posted March 28, 2005 Yves, thanks for advice, I will definitely try it! Here I made some modifications Quote
Grubber Posted March 31, 2005 Author Posted March 31, 2005 I have remodeled cabin completely, I thinks this look better Quote
Mr. Jaqe Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 How about you pimp the ride? Give it some color? I agree, the 2nd one looks better, but that's mainly because the first one got no driver. Both of them are very good work, but I would still like to see some color Quote
Grubber Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 Third version! I like this one most! ofcourse I will add some colors, I just always do modeling first, then some stageing, ant the texturing I leave for the eng. Maybe it is not right way to do everything, but that's way I get used to. Quote
Mega Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 That is such a great looking car/design. Very cool. One thing I noticed, which I'm sure you see, are some creases on the side paneling. I see this car being very red and very fast! I look forward to more updates - nice work. Tony Quote
Grubber Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 Hi there! I have made some adjustments. I am still afraid to start texturing, couse with texturing I ruin everything Quote
starwarsguy Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 When you're done, think you could give us a MDL file so we can see how you made it and try texturing it ourselves? *looks around hopefull* Quote
Paul Forwood Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 I am still afraid to start texturing, couse with texturing I ruin everything Don't be afraid. Just make a copy then you can't ruin it. Your models are excellent! Quote
JoshB Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I liked the headlights from the previous version. Actually, I thought that was the best part. J Quote
Grubber Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 Thanks for replys I think the modeling is nearly done... I guess... I hope so... ChrisThom Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Wow, this model's gone through quite the evolution. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted April 7, 2005 Admin Posted April 7, 2005 Holy... all these great images... and the model too! I love you guys. Maybe a texturing expert can make some suggestions that would fit your awesome car. Quote
pixelmech Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 What an excellent car! The engine is SICK man! (That's Orange County Chopper parlance for "awesome!"). Get some color and texture on that thing - that's the fun part! Quote
Admin Rodney Posted April 7, 2005 Admin Posted April 7, 2005 I just had to try a render with v12 Alpha 8. Extra points for anyone that knows what vehicle is sharing the scene with Grubber's Futuristic car. Both models are currently downloadable here in the forum. Quote
Dhar Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Thanks for replys I think the modeling is nearly done... I guess... I hope so... And here is the model, there are lots things to fix yet But you are welcome to analyse it If anyone will use it for animation or something else, please pm me. Awsome! Just awsome! What is that? 8 cylinders in X formation with 6 intakes? How cool is that! Quote
Grubber Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 Rodney, nice effect! Where I can find that another model? Thanks everyone for comments Quote
Grubber Posted April 9, 2005 Author Posted April 9, 2005 Hi, I played a little bit with some basic colors and reflectivity And here is high res Quote
starwarsguy Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 You should be proud. Design, modeling, and texturing All By Yourself! Great work! Quote
Mr. Jaqe Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 AWSOME!! Those colors and stuff really did the trick! Quote
JohnArtbox Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 great work grubber...love the car design. And thanks for the download Quote
Admin Rodney Posted April 9, 2005 Admin Posted April 9, 2005 Pretty! You really know how to place your chrome. Where I can find that another model? The Link to the Anzovin Sand Razor snuck into the forum way back in September 2003. Some people may have seen the vehicle in the movie GI Joe: Spy Troops! Note: It's contained in a project file so look for it as an embedded model. It was announced via the listserve and transferred into the A:M Forum shortly after it came into existance. See post: Here Now you have one up on the Sand Razor with the texturing now added. Quote
Newbert_Zero Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Dang that looks good. great job modeling and great job texturing. It look's nice Quote
Grubber Posted April 11, 2005 Author Posted April 11, 2005 Thanks everyone for nice words! I am very happy that you like my work. I will have to work on my project on this week at my college, so I have to put away all 3d stuff for a while. Here another version of my car, I reduced reflectivity a bit, and still i will have to fix some modeling bugs. Quote
nf1nk Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 As long as we are doing the texturing, it would add realism to have the engine block be rough, like a casting. the engine is boxer style, and most boxers have a cast block. as an aside. high stress members are not cromed, because croming can cause hydrogen embrittlement. The block is a high stress member. the car looks awsome and I am very impressed Quote
agep Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Hey Povilas I love your car. Its amazing how detailed it is. Looking forward to see the final textured version. Quote
