  1. Sadly, I cannot attend... I was called into a contract negotiation for Monday afternoon. I'll be tied up all morning prepping. Sorry! I hope to make the next one. I was so excited to attend this one...I hope to make up for it. Thanks everyone! Tony
  2. I'm psyched! Glad Duke made it. I hope to make the meetings as much as I can. Great bunch of people we've got. What a crew!!!! Glad to have have, LUCKBAT, another Brooklyn boy! I wont be so lonely...
  3. Wow...it's been a loooong time for me. Count me in. I remember the original NYHUG back in the day. Glad to see we have a new one! Hey, D-Bo, I plan to call Duke and see if he can make it, too! Tony
  4. Excellent! Modeling is top notch and the robot shows great character - fun, too! Rendering is very very nice. What type of lighting set up did you use? Render times? Thanks, Tony
  5. Very, very nice modeling. Can we see wireframes? I would like to see how you layed them out. Nice job! Can't wait for the textures to be added... Tony
  6. Hi, John: As always, your work is top notch! I agree, maybe a sky image may push the image of the plane further out. I would also, if possible, like to see another angle, possibly angling towards the viewer? Any update on SkyCast...!? Tony
  7. Aah. Got it. I understand. That's an ingenious way to solve a problem. I like the way you set up the cho. Why work harder - work smarter. Good one... Tony
  8. That is such a great looking car/design. Very cool. One thing I noticed, which I'm sure you see, are some creases on the side paneling. I see this car being very red and very fast! I look forward to more updates - nice work. Tony
  9. Have you considered a render from an birds eye view? It would be interesting to pull back the camera and see the "janitor" in it's environment. Just my $.0046 Tony
  10. Ok, my PC must be possessed...now I can see the image from the first post. Yep, I need a stiff shot of tequila. Great image! I really like the textures and DOF. One thing ...what is that yellow object? Is that being tossed into the janitor? Did it fall off? Maybe some motion blur to denote movement? I really like this image. Nicely done. Light set up? Wireframe? I like the modeling of the janitor...nice detail. Tony
  11. Very nice image. I hope you continue to refine it. I like the overall feel and mood and I think the fairies are very well modeled. It's a shame that it wasn't in the contest. Hope to see more of this... Tony
  12. Odd...when I click on the link I simply see the Tripod logo. I'm using Firefox and XPPro. Tony
  13. I have to echo the other comments - very interesting indeed. However, can we see a closer look? Overall it looks like a very nice model. Real nice work. Tony
  14. Excellent model. I especially like the cloth. What type of light set up did you use? I'd love to see the lighting from underneath to give him more of a menacing appearance. Looking forward to more updates... Tony
  15. This is coming along quite well. I really like the exhaust and the "rear swoop" of the back end. Sheesh...wish I could walk down and buy the Mach 5 from a local car dealer ship...ah the memories. Tony
  16. I really like the render. I especially like the hands and the "weight" the toon render gives them. As well as the over all strength of the pose - nicely done! I have always believed A:M has the best toon render, bar none! You have just proved it. Hope to see more. Tony
  17. Speed Racer...I love that show! Looking real good. Can't wair for more. Will you have the buzz saw jutting out of the front!?
  18. Overall, very nice. I like the scene and set up. However, be careful - the nearest brush is actually intersecting the paint can. If you look at the very top at the tip of the brush it is colliding right into the top of the can... Tony
  19. Holy crap...that's good!!! Now I know where my next purchase is going to be. My wife did say she wanted to re-do the bathroom... Tony
  20. Hi, John: I posted this in the OT section. Hope this helps. ***************************************** Some time back someone posted about render farm services and I think mentioned RenderMuscle. Well, I emailed Mike Ulrich of RenderMuscle. I asked him about his render farm services. Below, with his permission, is his response(s): <<Hey Tony, I'm guessing you are asking about our render farm? Currently the farm is offline. We will be updating the nodes in the not so distant future as we approach internal rendering needs, but we've moved the farm from a commercial service to an in-house studio farm. There just was'nt enough interest to keep them up and running... ate up too much juice. Prior to taking things offline, we did render a couple projects that used DarkTree and could render AM projects from 8.5 - V.11. If things time out favorably, there is the possibility of using our farm as we fire it up for internal renders after the 1st of the year. We have 25 rack mounted Dual AMD 2100+ nodes, each with a gig of ram. Thanks, Mike Ulrich>> As well as... <<Once we have the nodes back on-line to render our in-house production, I'd be happy to to open it up for others between renders. We will have a good weeks worth of work getting it back on-line (we've moved and they all need serviced) As far as sharing my e-mail on the list, that would be fine, although I won't be able to offer services until after we have things back up and running. I can't take a week to do that until after the first of the year. Keep me posted, Mike>> Mike, if needed, can be reached at mike@rendermuscle.com Hope this helps, Tony
  21. Very nice indeed. You have him perfectly ready to smite someone! However, it seems that his cranium, or the noggin', may be a bit off kilter. It seems like his right, our left, is protruding out a bit more than the other half. Unless he got a major ding tussling with the Captain Marvel (Mar-Vel not Billy Batson)... For me, very much in the style of Steve Rude. No slouch in the power dept. Tony
  22. I guess shouldn't mention that I met John Byrne at his home many moons ago... Oh, yeah, I have an original drawing of the Thing he did for me for my birthday. Again, many moons ago. Loooong story. One day... Least I forget...egads! What a great model. Tony
  23. Mega

    KONG!

That is some of the finest modeling I have seen in a long time. Just great Will. Kong has been a fave of mine since forever. Also, major kudos for donating the model. Thank you!!!!! Can't wait for the Peter Jackson movie. Tony
  24. What a great character. I really like his proportions. Fun little guy. The only thing that caught my attention is around the eyelit. It seems as though his costume is not a seperate piece from his body. Maybe it's just the angle that he is in. I cant wait to see the little guy animated. Tony
