  1. Great so far!! keep it up. The "Bat ears" might be a bit to small atop the head, and the eyes might be to slanted up... but other than that it looks good! Ben
  2. Hey! I'm 13 to I have had am for about 3 years as of august 24th. The face is def in the right shape, but there are many problems, i think the biggest is that everything is VERY angular, it just doesnt give it an organic look. Splines are "bendy" so make some pop out, and the lines will follow. I also suggest using porcelain, its included on the cd, but make sure you use stephen gross' correct normals plugin b4 you use the porclain. Nice job Ben
  3. I like! (the dance) I just got an ipod for my bday, and since i only have about 2 gigs of AM stuff, i put it all on there. There is no way im gonnna have 20 gigs of music and or pics, so i just put it all on there incase my hd ever crashes! Nice job Ben
  4. It is radiosity, that is quite not realisitc .. . or maybe its to realistic. I'm not sure, but i think it is because there is an equal amount of light coming from all directions, those were the kind of bitmaps painted in Zelda and other Nintendo 64 and playstation games. New render looks sweet! Cant wait for animation! Ben
  5. My mom would alwasy tell me about the butter cow in the Illionios state fair . . . she said it was one of the main attractions Ben
  6. better than my first model, thats for sure. my first "consisted of a lathed spline to make a flying saucer, and some flat 3 point fins . . . Nice job, looking forward to all the extra stuffffff Ben
  7. Nice, that seems a pretty popular thing to do now . . . take fabs prj and render stuff with it For some reason though, his face looks like a painted bitmap . . . Ben
  8. Patrick, It is much more realistic because the first time the light bounces is calculated, before, the light would bounce once, then start indirectly illuminating stuff. For an example, if you shined a light at a white patch on a black floor, onto a white wall, in v 12, you would see a "sqaure of light on the wall". In v11 it would not do this, and if the light was angled just right, you might notice somtin on the ceiling. at least that is what i understand. I have a new render of my alley, I havn't shown it yet because its not finished (never will be) but before the inside was black, now, everything is much brighter and there are no complete blacks and i like the image you posted, it does remind me alot of the Iron Giant. Nice job, Ben
  9. Hey, Do you have v 12 yet? Perhaps you could spend another week rendering with the new radiosity system! I would love to see it with the new sys. Great job! Ben
  10. He seems off balance . . . looks good though Ben
  11. hmmm, maybe only attatch some parts, to make it look more like clay put togher, or have creases whre the parts are connected? Im not sure, but just a suggestin, and maybe have some bump decals to show interaction with fingers and stuff, and maybe a crack or 2 in the skin. Srry didnt say these things b4, my mind was kind of blank . . .it was right after football ben
  12. Nice job, looks like a new pooh type character! He has alot of character, but i agree about the eyes, give em some detph Again nice Ben
  13. REally nice, the mood seems differant than the colors, it gives it a nice styler. I like it alot Ben
  14. *Cough* 5020394832 billiion pathes *cough* BTW what is the patch count on that thing? Hey, That is looking swwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeetttt!!!!! I could build an older type of house for a more old american look if you want. I could also build a newage type of office building! Just tell me, and i'll pretty much do, cuz im bored Ben
  15. I have never seen the movie all the way through, but if it is just a beem, make a cylindrical shaft (with the color effects you want), then use a completetly transparent and non glowey material effect, and move it along the path of the cylinder, to keep it transparent, until it shoots. If you look at jeff lews tutorial on bullet waves on his website, it should give u a better idea Nice model btw Ben
  16. Dude, your good at modelling stuff Espeacially mech stuff, good job! Ben
  17. Yes, she does Beyond that, nice character, i like the motion to! Good job! Are ur 2 super heros gonna be love birds (like in the incredibles) or hate each other horribly and get into massive battle scenes (cool, i advise making a mini film out of this!) Ben
  18. Well, I'm getting really mad at my alley, so im gonna try some more stuff like this, i will be posting soon, along with an updated render of this image. Thanks for the comments , really keeps my going Ben
  19. WOW, that looks pretty good! Nice job, could u post the prj? Thanks Ben
  20. Hey, nice job The sword, for the blade to look realistic, you need an enviorment. For metal i would suggest, a dark grey, 80 percent spec size, 90 spec intenisty, 10 reflect, 50% reflect blend, 1 rough, 5 rough scale Ben
  21. I deffinately agree, the first one is the best. Nice job BTW, i don't think i have said anything on this thread, the head looks great! Ben
  22. dude, thats 4W350M3!!!!!!!! (AWESOME) i agree about the blacks though, TO sharp, i think only slightly less would be good, it really helps the artificial ness of the room show though . . . Ben
