Something is wrong besides A:M since the rest of us are able to place decals OK. I'll also note the 3D Paint doesn't have a "font" tool so that will not be a solution. If you can come to Live Answer Time today I'd be curious to watch what happens . The graphics card driver issue sounds significant. If that is stopping you from running Photoshop, that is enough reason to fix it.

I think your problem is more basic. You shouldn't need 3D Paint to apply decals and I'm sure it would not solve the immediate problem. One more time... what happens when you do Help>Reset all settings?

There is v19 L out now. And what happened with Reset all settings>?
  4. All objects are Bullet "Static" objects by default. Active Bullet objects will try to not pass through them. If you leave the "target" of the Scatter plugin in the Chor, the objects scattered on it are probably so close that they are less than the minimum distance they try to keep from all surfaces and will try to immediately move away. You can either delete the model from the Chor, set its Active property OFF, or set the Bullet Static Object>Use in simulation property OFF
  5. Hooray for quickly solved problems! You can "Add Note" at the bottom of that issue, explaining that you've found the real problem and that the issue can be "closed"
  6. Hint... "target"
  7. I can hear the surf already!
  8. I don't use VLC much but I see it does have a contrast adjustment. Maybe that got bumped on yours?
  9. Interesting. Here is a screengrab of (from top to bottom) the gray scale - the gray scale exported as an AVI no compression from A:M the gray scale exported as an AVI no compression from QuickTime the gray scale exported as an H.264 mov from QuickTime your "gray scale 01.avi" - displayed in A:M GrayScale_AM_QT_H264_AVIinAM.tga jpg version... the first four are displayed in the Quicktime player, the fifth is in A:M The top three and fifth are faithful to each other, the fourth has the opposite problem of what you had... the brights are less bright and the darks are less dark. Is it possible it is your viewer that is applying some "correction". Perhaps a "contrast" boost? If you view your uncompressed AVI in A:M does it still appear altered? When I look at your uncompressed AVI in A:M the gray values are correct when I screen capture that and check it in Photoshop. I was unable to view your AVI in Quicktime, however.
  10. oops, I meant Y, not Z Give this a try... clip4960KeyFrameMaterialPosition1200.mov
  11. Practically Prehistoric! That man has tiny ankles.
  12. Instead of spinning the material, animate it on Z to go through the ground plane vertically.

What happens when you apply one of the targas you already have? Just as a test.

What format are you using instead? What version of 19? Have you updated your graphics drivers? Also to try... Help>Reset all settings. This will reset all your custom keyboard shortcuts and window placements and Options choices so its a bit of a last resort.

That means to try it. It needs no more explanation.

Does it still crash when you apply a decal?

What version are you using? and... are your graphics drivers current? Just to try... no promises... but it's easy to try... so just try it... in Options>Global switch your OpenGL choice.
  18. Many times over the years I have added some constraints in a Pose, closed the Pose window and then... they were gone! Now i have found a repeatable set of steps that makes this happen and a work-around to avoid the loss. First try this SimpleArmIKTest005.prj Open SimpleArmIKTest005.prj (Thanks to Forum member Tom for contributing this test case) In the Project Workspace>Objects>Arm> >New>Pose>On/Off to start a new Pose (aka "Relationship") In the Project Workspace>Objects>Arm>Bones, drag "handIK" to the top of the hierarchy by dragging it onto the Bones folder In the Relationship window> on the "lower arm" bone>New Constraint>Kinematic Click on the "handIK" bone with the eyedropper to choose it as the "target" Close the Relationship window. The new Pose will remain in the model but it will have no constraints in it. Ouch! There is something about working outside that Relationship window, before making the constraint, that causes the constraint to get made only in the temporary Action that always appears while a Relationship window is open. When the Relationship window closes, that Action disappears and the constraints that were made disappear also. Work-around... If you have opened a Relationship window and have reason to work outside of it, close it and re-open it before you make any new constraints. You can reopen a Relationship window by double-clicking on its name in your model's Relationships folder... It is possible to have many numbered Relationships in one Pose folder. Be sure to choose the one you really want to open. I have reported this bug to Steffen. Until he can implement a solution... use the work-around! @svetlik I think this is the problem you brought up a few weeks ago.
  19. I still treasure my CDs with the pictures on them. At least we still get the current mascot when A:M boots up. I got tired of having to swap it in so I got a second CD drive just to hold the A:M CD. Nowadays with most people on laptops with no CD drive at all it would be hopeless.
  20. I remember people always complaining that they had to have the CD in the computer to run A:M. 😃 CDs are no longer feasible. The alternative is to not have the software available anymore. 🙁
  21. Hi Joe, There is not a $99 upgrade anymore. The offering is now a $79 annual subscription. It is indeed tied to the computer you activate it on. I realize that is not the same as it was before but I recommend that as you can always be current on updates There is also a $299 non-expiring version, also a digital download, also tied to the computer you activate it on and also tied to the version you got when you bought it. I do not recommend that. I recommend the $79 subscription so you can always be current on updates. Your subscription license also lets you run any version from v15 onward. v19 is the current version I'm not sure of the answer to your other two questions. the A:M videos and A:M gallery seem to have had trouble since the last website upgrade. However, the ftp site still has dirs for movies and gallery ftp://ftp.hash.com/pub/
  22. Hi Joe! The operating system code that allowed CD-dongles such as A:M used was removed by Microsoft several years ago because of some sort of a security problem. You will not be able to start those versions unless you are running some Windows earlier than Windows 7 There is an work-around for Windows 7... Begin at post that starts "Work-around explained" I don't think this will work on Windows 10 but I recall one forum member, whose post I can't find, was able to do something to make CD version A:Ms work on Windows 10. I have not tried that. EDIT: I see you found it already! The last updates for each version can be found at the FTP site... ftp://ftp.hash.com/pub/updates/windows/
  23. Phil, if no one else pops in soon with a re-compiled version of that, you could submit it to Steffen in a report at reports.hash.com Explain fully what it does that current plugins don't do He might be able to make it work.
  24. that is quite jewel-like.
  25. That does sound convenient! I'll note that the current MirrorBone plugin not only creates bones for the mirror side but will correct the position of existing, previously mirrored bones, in addition to mirroring CP weights on them.
