  1. That's a cutie!
  2. I have a suggestion for the views that are largely interior... Lop off a portion of the car that is behind the camera and render with AO to get some illumination and nuanced shadowing on the details. Right now there is so much in darkness, the good stuff is getting lost.
  3. Unfortunately the video doesn't show for me. The easiest technique is to upload it to YouTube and put the YouTube link in the post.
  4. Looks like some damage to the Sopwith Camel. I hope Snoopy doesn't go down behind enemy lines!
  5. That was a problem for Disney's "Multi-plane" too. I suspect that in that photo with Max Fleischer, the "flags" that would have shielded the lights for the cels from the 3D background, have been removed to show the set up more clearly.
  6. Grampy seems to live in a universe where everything needs to be reinvented, even if it has been invented. I notice that the Fleischer animators almost never do an anticipation to a body movement, unless it's incorporated in a repeating cycle. Freeze. In-between to the next pose. Freeze. In-between to the next pose. Freeze. No overlapping action, no overshoots , not much slow-in-slow-out. It's 1935 and they're animating like it's 1929. That's another great model that Betty walks through at 1:00 in "Betty Boop and Grampy". I'm fascinated by the wheel chair(?) ramps at the curbs. Clearly they are there so she doesn't have to step down and up again but... were those a thing back then?
  7. "Tarnation!" as my dad's most frequent G-rated swear word. This is the first time I have ever seen it used by anyone else. "Sittin' on a Back Yard Fence" (1933)
  8. That is looking very dog hair-like. Don't get him wet!
  9. They put a lot of work into those 3D models for such short scenes!
  10. I'll admit I'm not familiar with "Grampy" Did you put the bug report on AMReports?... reports.hash.com
  11. A sure way to get the render you want is to make the cylinder a separate model. That will work in v19. But... you've found a bug! If it works in v15 it should work in v19 but... it doesn't. So something is wrong with the renderer. You could make a bug report to AMReports. Your test case is ideal for showing the difference. v15-18 render properly. The fault originates sometime during v19. I bet someone woudl enjoy testing all the v19s to see when it starts.
  12. "One More Time" (1931) is a Mickey Mouse cartoon after a transporter mishap. It looks like Mickey, it moves like Mickey but... something is not quite right in this universe. Machine guns, rap battles, and lots of toe-tapping big-city jazz. Also... "One More Time" sure sounds a lot like "42nd Street".
  13. Give it a try in v15.
  14. December 6 , 1931. The New York Times offers an only slightly smirking explanation of the cartoon process. Intro... Full article. Click to enlarge...
  15. LAT thread now split into its own topic. @Tom
  16. Rich lady hippo has a quadruple continental kit on the back of her Duesenberg. She'll need those spares, she's got patches on all four tires already! "One MoreTime" (1931)
  17. In the 70s we probably would have modernized that 2020 wooden chair by painting it the color of the 1997 chair.
  18. Looks serious!
  19. It bakes you before it swallows you!
  20. Daffy, 1/4 speed "The Up-Standing Sitter" (1948) clip4961QuarterSpeed Daffy.mp4
  21. "Super Snooper" (1951) Booze, guns and cigarettes. Just what you need to make sure this cartoon is never seen on Saturday morning. The skylight in the back is a classic device of the film noir style. It's not easy doing film noir... in Technicolor!
  22. The advantage of Bullet is that it has many more parameters to fine tune the behavior.
  23. Very interesting. I suspect that the default settings are not necessarily creating identical bodies between the two..

    Decals

Something is wrong besides A:M since the rest of us are able to place decals OK. I'll also note the 3D Paint doesn't have a "font" tool so that will not be a solution. If you can come to Live Answer Time today I'd be curious to watch what happens . The graphics card driver issue sounds significant. If that is stopping you from running Photoshop, that is enough reason to fix it.

    Decals

I think your problem is more basic. You shouldn't need 3D Paint to apply decals and I'm sure it would not solve the immediate problem. One more time... what happens when you do Help>Reset all settings?
