  1. Congratulations on your first step to animation! (I looked at that thumbnail image at the top and thought that was a zipper)
  2. Projects are made to have things added to them. This should not be a problem. Saving something from a project should not be a problem. Some key element is missing from this description of events. Normally one can import eyeballs all day and not turn one's penguin orange. When something that odd happens, don't save anything. That's like saying you want to odd thing to be permanent. Quit. retrace your steps. As always, we'll need more info.
  3. Multi-pass is... many passes! for 16 passes, for example, the camera renders the image at 16 points on a 4x4 grid within the space of one pixel and averages them together. This is to reduce aliasing. Because it does this for all pixels it is slower than the regular renderer which is smart enough to know which pixels need full anti-aliasing or not. A patch of blue sky need no antiialiasing. MP also can show tru motion blur because it can render the object as it moves thru space at slightly different positions within the time of one frame. Regualr renderer calcultes teh direction and velocity of a pixel a just the instant of the frame and adds a quick blur in that direction to simulate motion blur. It is very fast compared to MP. because MP can do more than 16 passes it has the potential for better Anti-aliasing than the regular render if you dont' mind the time expense. And for some, reason some features work only in MP. Not sure why.
  4. For you Mr Robert.... Molto fabuloso! Those are very clever and beautiful looking.
  5. / will select all CPs connected to the one you have selected. I bet that was in TAoA:M.
  6. I guess i don't understand how going to a different view solves the problem of not being able to see right from the first view if the first view is what you want.
  7. If you select a group that has teh color you want, then hold down the shift key while you use the Patch Group Mode tool to select other patches they will be added to that first group. Probably easier to start over.
  8. Could you explain more of the fix you found? I didn't quite follow it.
  9. I love that! It's like a combination of a Spirograph and an atom smasher.
  10. There are two gravities... "force" the one in the Chor props can affect anything including particles. the one in the particle system is added to the one in the Chor. If it's 0 then you still have -100 default in the chor. If the particle has +100 that will ballance out the defautl chor force. Or, you could set the chor force to 0 if you don't need it for anything else.
  11. I didn't catch some of those later hairs, those are looking great, I bet a lot of people thought A:M hair couldn't do that.
  12. Wherever you are and whence ever you return.
  13. I like it. The lens flare might be a bit too prominent since the sun itself doesn't appear very bright.
  14. I recall an expensive product called Magpie that seemed to be doing what A:M's lipsync feature does and it was quite the rage for a long time, so there must be some possibilities in the technique especially for fast-production environments.
  15. I've never done that exercise but your character must be rigged with the same phonemes you are trying to use, i believe. Try it, but i recommend regular mouth animation for lip sync. Good open/close will cover about 70% of it.
  16. I dont' know if Myron means the original AMFilms site, but I notice vintage.amfilms.com is gone too. Is that intended?
  17. I tested that but no, the screen capture didn't seem to be it. Rebooting windows didn't fix it. I had to Reset Settings in A:M. So it's something in A:M rather than a windows bug. Extra odd... I tried V15 while they were not appearing and they wouldn't appear there either. But now they do.
  18. No luck with that. And of course this starts when I'm recording a screencam and saying "notice how when you hover over a button the tooltip... appears..."
  19. There seems to be some circumstance that makes tooltips not appear even though "Show Tooltips" is checked in the Customize window. Anyone know how to get them back? Besides a Reset? (This is not "Tip of the Day" that I am asking about)
  20. I like that!
  21. Ya got me convinced! Throw some Lemon Pledge on it and that will solve the friction problem.
  22. you're first cloth? Start very simple. Don't try to make it thick.
  23. If i click in the model window, then select Pose 1 in the Properties window, then press "Delete", it goes away.
  24. This may not need a video! i was baffled until I noticed that foots are children of the calfs If the foot bone is the target for an IK constraint, it can't also be a child of the bones constrained to follow it. I'm surprised A:M let you do that, that should be a circular constraint error. The foot bones need to be higher I the hierarchy at either the Root or Pelvis level. I know I had it working in the video so check that video for how I had it. Delete that whole leg constraints relationship, fix the heirarchy, then redo the Leg Constraints relationship. Then see what you get.
  25. There must be more to it. An ON/OFF switch would make a sudden jump but not that slow wandering. If you can bear me posting another diagnostic video about that penguin, send it to me and I'll give it a look.
