  1. What if you put the thumb here [attachmentid=12781] ?
  2. Is there an option where the grid lines would match the ruler markings? Like if it's inches then I expect each grid line to line up with the inch marking? [attachmentid=12779] Better pic [attachmentid=12780]
  3. Isn't that what is referred to as a 'suicide bomber'?
  4. Coming along really nice phnx. I like what you've done so far, appealing look and expressive facials. I don't think there's anything wrong with the thumb, it's just turned wierd. If you turn the thumb in towards the middle finger I think it'll look fine, it's just the angle we're looking from.
  5. LOL I laughed so hard my chair almost did the same thing. LOL Oh...haha...LOL... that was good. Happy New Year to you too. LOL
  6. Thank you phnxpyre, appreciate your comments Thank yoy traj. I'd like to know about that movement you see brains, I was joking about the background noise. If I was to record any taiko drumming, I'd probably do it at the dojo where we practice. I just can't do studio quality recording. Whenever you're ready, let me know, I'd love the opportumity
  7. Awsome workmanship! Doesn't look like it was used much, and I don't see the rust you're talking about.
  8. First plan is a still shot that I need to get ready for cafepress to print our t-shirts for an upcoming taiko gig in April, after that my plan is to animate it as part of an expression of one of our songs.
  9. <yawn...stretch..spending xmas day A:Ming...life's great> Done the hands, thanks to http://demented3d.com/tutorial/ and to whoever posted the link a while back. [attachmentid=12605]
  10. Thank you brain, I am flattered and I would be honored to create a taiko number for you, mind you, we have no recording studio, so, it'll be amature quality. <I can hear it already, sirens howling & dogs barking in the background and our next door neighbor pounding on our door & screeming to keep it down just as your samurai plunges his katana into the enemy's heart>
  11. Thanks Phnx. Yeah, the ears are attached to the head, the angle isn't the greatest. I'm working on the arms, next is the hands. That's where I need help, how to extrude the hand and fingers. <looking at favs for saved tutorials, jeez there are so many> [attachmentid=12602]
  12. Not at all. Polygon modeling is very much like modeling with clay, you have a cube or a sphere that you shape the way you want. Spline based modeling is like constructing with wires, you connect wires (splines) into the shape you want and anywhere between those wires will become a surface that you can color or texture. I hope this makes sense.
  13. Update: added ears, teeth & tongue [attachmentid=12598]
  14. That's great work! I love that fire, it really looks like it's jetting out of his mouth, and the smoke out of the nostrills is a nice touch. Vern has a great suggestion for tweaking. I watch my cats to learn about animal behavior, and when they focus of a moving object their heads don't follow it smoothly as it moves, instead, they move their heads in increments - every time the object passes n inch they'd move their heads then freeze, then move an inch as the object moves and then freeze, and so on. You're on the right track
  15. Hi, I'm taking a break from boot camp so I started working on this winged dragon that may become the logo for my newly formed Taiko group, called...uh... Hiriyu Critiques and any help and insights/experience will be greatly appreciated. What I did basically is use the terrordactyl model and changed the form to look like the O Dragon by Roger Dean. 16. Here's to good health, prosperity, and long life
  17. I used to have a siamese cat, and looking at your model... <shudder> The concept is....<shudder> Is she trying to seduce me?....<shudder>....<shudder>....<shudder> <gulp>.. great work though

  20. I didn't realize there was a tube spiraling around that "bowl"? Being an HVAC engineer, I'd assume it's a defrost tube? Nice work BTW
  21. What a great concept I love the piercing Thank you, you made me smile. More power to you and best of luck.
  22. Oh Vern, you tease... what do you mean "to be continued"? That's not fair Now I'm dying to know what that contraption over Tom's head is for.
  23. That's awsome! A tutorial on how you did it would be appreciated
  24. Hmmm... oil drilling?
