  1. - What's the difference between Add Image and Apply Decal? - Does each affect file size differently?
  2. What happens if you cast a shadow on that map? Let's say you put the Emerald Castle (?) model in the middle, will its shadow conform to the moutainous terrain or will it expose the flat patch?
  3. Rodney, Rodney, he's our man - If he can't do it.....uh..... he'll get somebody who can Keep up the good work
  4. This is a big one alright! Awsome scene BTW
  5. I remember this model in the 2004 Siggraph CD. Good presentation.
  6. Congratulations on your accomplishment Justin. I like the consistency of your style's texture, you did manage to draw me into what's happening. Your sound effects enhanced the shock value of your piece very well. Good job.
  7. I don't consider this a showcase, but Shaggy needs a TV set that matches his old furniture (lazy dude, kidney table etc..) so I made this simple TV model. I have a mahogony image on mine but you can put whatever image you like. It's free so you do what you want with it. Happy animating [attachmentid=13298] TV_Set.ZIP

    The Retro

You know what Dan? You're bad! I was looking at that top view render for a while.....that car is gorgeous....it almost turned me on.. You're evil Dan, just evil
  9. 1- Make sure you are in frame 00:06:00 2- Make sure Shaggy's head bone is selected. 3- You have a choice either to click on "Make Keyframe" button, OR, slightly nudge the head bone and then back to its original position (this'll create a keyframe for the bone). 4- Go to frame 00:06:10 and move the head bone. Now if you've already done all that, then my guess is that the first time you ever move Shaggy's head is at frame 00:06:00, which means that the timeline spline got a bend to to it when you moved on frame 00:06:10. In this case, go to your timeline (click in View and choose Timeline in the drop down menu), make sure the head bone is selected, go to frame 00:06:00, right-click on the Control Point in the timeline, choose Zero Slope. This will straighten the bone's timeline from 00:00:00 all the way to frame 00:06:00. If you have any questions, ask away
  10. Thank you for the superb explanation Will. You make an excellent teacher. My next questions is: how will this effect render time?
  11. I did a little search on "pixel displacement", are they the same as "distance mapping"? I understand things better when they're put in layman terms; so pixel displacement is basically taking a 2d image and enhancing it to look like 3d? Also, is this statement true: "Current GPUs have more pixel-processing power than they have vertex-processing power. For example, the GeForce 6800 Ultra has 16 pixel-shading pipelines to its 6 vertex-shading pipelines. In addition, a single pixel pipeline is often able to perform more operations per clock cycle than a single vertex pipeline." ? Thank you for your patience.
  12. And a "pixel displacement" is........?
  13. Superb! Reminds me of one level of the game 'Command & Concur Generals' where a dam is bombarded to flood a village and the water runs down the canyon. Yours is much better looking

Since you're going retro, how about side exhaust pipes, ala the Shelby Cobra? [attachmentid=13174]
  15. Impressive splinesmanship I remember the boat you did and now the car, do I sense an airplane in the future? Great job, as always.
  16. Whoa! That is magnificent. Great job. Some areas are a little flat, but the scene is breathtaking.
  17. When you say poses; do you mean pose sliders? And sub-folders you mean for images and decals? To duplicate a model simply select the whole model, right click and choose copy then paste. A:M will duplicate the model and all its decals/colors. However, you'll need to go to the bones and duplicate them separately then reassigning them to the new model. I hope this answers your question. [attachmentid=13007][attachmentid=13008]
  18. I got the same thing. I just deleted the copies.
  19. Welcome back, it's been a while. Well, I like the stucco texture of the outside walls, I can't tell what the inside wall is made of. The roof; is it suppused to be corrigated metal? I can't tell - it's too thick and wavy to what I'm familiar with. Other than that, it's one broken empty room
  20. Dan, thank you very much for going thru the trouble and showing me the solution. I'll try that when I get home.
  21. I redid the stand from scratch stitching differently than before. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the abnormalities? Especially those with experience modeling and decaling. Thanks. [attachmentid=12956] [attachmentid=12955]

Sweeeeeeet What happened to the irridescent paint job?
  23. What a lovable character. More shaggy than Shaggy Have you tried differing the hair lengths and softening the tips of the longer hairs to give a softer fuzzy look?
  24. Whoa That was cool

    Singing Santa

I can feel the softness of her skin. What a knockout
