  1. Lazlo, don't think this subject is dead, I have a couple of ideas for the transportation. Now that the Superbowl is over I can get my pencil sketch pad out and start creating.
  2. Good point Ethan. In this case a pop would be desirable to give the jump a little zip.
  3. I see a difference in the shadows between the Render Lock & Render only modes. The Render only shadow looks more diffused and the white blotch looks more like a light reflection rather than a missing patch. When a patch is missing the white borders would be more defined than what's in the pic. If you know it is definitly missing a decal then try a close up of the problem area and render it again, maybe also change the camera angle.
  4. I don't know. Try it
  5. Depends on what it is you want to post. If you're posting a work in progress, then go to the WIP folder. If your work is finished then go to the Showcase folder. I can't wait to see your work, you're an awsome artist
  6. 6 CPs is quite an accomplishment. Low spline models are best. What I would do is continue with the 6cps to model the foot (extrude, rotate, extrude, adjust etc..) I personally wouldn't use spheres for the toes, I'd build one then copy and shape the rest from the first toe model. To attach the toes is where it gets tricky because that's where you'll need some stitching. There are two ways of stitching, you can add a spline from on cp and attach it to another cp. And you can add a spline to one cp and "hook" it to another spline so as to create a patch without adding a cp. You're gonna use the 5 point patch button quite a bit when stitching, but it's easy to get the hang of it. Here's a link to modeling feet that you might find useful. http://www.colins-loft.net/CoopFeet.html
  7. The rig looks fine, I don't see any problems with it. The 'popping' is normal in all A:M rigs, even the default characters that come with A:M disc have that phenomena. I learned that the hard way. Now I make sure that my feet targets do not go beyond the maximum extention of the knees. Good animation BTW
  8. Excellent work! Fascinating. This is helpful to the A:M community. Thanks for sharing. Could you describe what's going on, how you did it? A short tute?
  9. MP3 works in A:M. I've done it before in V11.1. Haven't done any sound in the newer versions but I don't think Hash fiddled with the sound in the newer versions.
  10. Excellent work as I have come to expect from you William. Do you have a favorite pencil to use like ebony or do you use different ones like B2's B6's etc..?
  11. That was great, I loved it. Loved the sounds
  12. Hi Nat, Thanks for sharing your work. I like the simplicity of your piece and the nice colors. The only thing that I'd like to see is some hair movement to lessen the stiffness of the animation. Good job
  13. Looks pretty good, even if a little patch heavy. That's imports for ya
  14. You'll have to utilize an editing program. I bought Adobe Premiere 6 off of e-bay. I learned how to use it when i was taking CG in college. I have yet to use it though
  15. Superb cartoonship. 45 hours for one picture with hair? Are we gonna be alive by the time the animation is done?
  16. Satyajit sahib, that is bohot acha! bilkul fantastic I think you should leave the BGs the way they are. It'll make a style statement, it has contrast to the semi-realistic characters, but most importantly it envelopes your characters with mood. Besides, it'll make you stand out from other artists. Keep up the good work

    The Retro

Hey! It's illegal to have smoked screen windshields in California You're top notch Dan
  18. AHA! It's that darn warehouse in the background. That warehouse take way too long to render even for a single scene. I think it's too spline heavy. See if you can change the warehouse to a simpler one. make a box and decal it with warehouse stuff and see if that doesn't help. I bet it's the warehouse.
  19. Vern; applause, applause - good call Robert, thanks for sharing your experiences. I'll remember this one in the future.
  20. Hello Margret, hello Charles, welcome aboard. Put that A:M CD in, strap yourselves and get ready for the most fun ride (I hope). Here we all learn from one another and what's great it's entertaining at the same time
  21. For a 10 second movie to take that long I'd expect there to be a lot of particle use (fog, smoke), hair, fabrics, multi passes, bump surfaces, ambiance with default render settings. I don't know what it is you're trying to achieve in your movie, but for me this is way too long.
  22. It's gotta be a glitch. Hey Robert; is it still doing it? Does the problem still exist?
  23. I noticed motion blur does add to the render time, so does hair, particles, bumps etc. 375 frames isn't that much, but it's all the special effects that're prolonging the render times. I rendered a 3 minute movie, with sound, no special effects, default settings (that was before I knew of the Sorensen 3), it took 72 hours
  24. Looks like another case of duplication Dude, what is it with you & duplicating? First the wheels now the posters? See if these are duplicates of the same ones.
  25. 60 hrs? How long is the movie and what are your render settings?
