  1. This is the exact reason why I've missed seeing you around here Billy! Great looking model. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  2. No going back now. All this stuff is going towards future work. But remember this stuff is more cartoony than real, so my impression is that there is great flex. in cheating real world physics. The one thing that is for sure is that hands going through floors and being in unnatural poses is probably something that the human eys is less forgiving too than slight exceptions to physics.... Like that TV show Tripping the Rift takes unacceptable freedom in it's animtion..... I don't know just thinking out loud here.... Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  3. Hey Curtis, Yeah, I think so.... a little light on what in the real world would be a major impact with the floor! But there's no going back to this excersize...... that's my policy(frank drebbin) Late Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  4. Hey John, maybe because the fingers are bending backwards slightly? I don't know... the hands didn't really get the attention it needed to keep the hands planted on the ground, so they penetrate the floor a little bit.... gre03 - Sharp? Okay.....
  5. Hey, thanks martin and dahr... appreciate the viewings! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  6. Hey guys, Been a while since I posted some excersices and such.... I spent about 30 min. yesterday and 30 min today putting this together.... A couple probs here and there but.... take a look if you get a chance http://www.vrcops.com/vids/FlowerJump4A.mov Thanks, Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  7. Wait... Ed I'm confused. Did you make the animation or did you just rebuild the rocket? Either way the rocket it looks great, but for some reason I'm reading that you did not make the animation, you just saw it on the NASA site. Is this right? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  8. was the music the japanese version of "YMCA"? Both vids pretty cool! Good stuff Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  9. Wow, this really has a nice look to it. cool! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  10. Hey guys, thanks for checking it out! And for the comments too, especially about the wood paneling on my walls VERN! Anyhows, about the model 1.Hash - to Silo(box modeller) sealed up the mesh, exported as .stl file. 2. Sent to a company http://www.vaupell.com/ for the production and painting. They built it from a resin, not like the stuff from 3darttopart. this is more of a plastic than a plaster. 3. sent back to me where it sits proudly on my desk and I show it to potential clients mostly as a look what else I can. As far as pricing.... it is expensive, and it is a tax write off for me. But to get this made, 4.5 inches tall... painted 5 colors and a clear coat..... expect to go well over $600.00. Now if I wanted to mass produce this.... one would need to get a mold made - carved into metal. In the US that would probably cost about $25k. In china probably cost about $6K. Then you would need a plastic molding injection company from china to take the mold and create and paint the models and at that point we are looking well about and beyond $25,000.00 for the bare minimum production values. Oh boy, so at this point, Inc.Guy won't have too many pals. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  11. No, I had a model produced, so it's an actual object. And yes, he's ready to take on the world! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  12. Hey guys, remember that incredibles rip off I made over the summer? Well even if not, I had a model produced and painted over the summer but for some reason or another I never got around to posting. I built this in A:M, no duh! And had to export it and save as an stl file.... which was not as easy as you might think. I wound up using a box modeller app to seal up the geometry and save as an stl. color spec image http://www.vrcops.com/3dfile/IncGuy.jpg model images http://www.vrcops.com/3dfile/3dToy/Toy1.jpg http://www.vrcops.com/3dfile/3dToy/Toy2.jpg http://www.vrcops.com/3dfile/3dToy/Toy3.jpg http://www.vrcops.com/3dfile/3dToy/Toy4.jpg http://www.vrcops.com/3dfile/3dToy/Toy5.jpg http://www.vrcops.com/3dfile/3dToy/Toy6.jpg Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  13. Hey David, I spent a few moments exploring this rig and thom model. The end result looks like it is 100% capable of great animation.....Also seeing it being used in that Egg animtion posted in the showcase section really demonstrated some great ability. The only thing that scares me about it is how many bones and constraints there are. I wonder how easy or difficult it would be to set up in a more complex mesh, like the TWO models. In riggin the loon character, would you say that it is a lengthy process? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  14. Didn't read your description!!! I was too impressed with the animation Good Stuff!!! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  15. What rig did you use. that was a great little piece. But I definately would like to hear what you used for a rig. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  16. Hey JW, take your 2 cents and!!!!! Just kidding! The reason why those things are still happening is cause I didn't edit this at all since you've seen it from the front view. I'm actually not going to edit it any further either. All things will go towards future work. I guess it doesn't totally belong in the Wips section since I'm done with it, but it definatly doesn't belong in the finished section either... Thanks for the spare change! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  17. Ha!!! Hey thanks for checking it out! The butt is the same as the original, I think it's just that her hip are positoned forward, or at least more so then when she's just standing.... Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  18. Hey guys a few weeks ago I was going on and on with posts when I finished my model. More fun to animate than to set up! Anyhows, this is one of the same vids, but from the back side... I was messing with trying blur settings out... I set the multi pass to 5 and then blurred it in a QuickTime export. http://www.vrcops.com/vids/BackR2PB.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  19. how long does it take you to install this from scratch? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  20. Ah, it worked this time. Very Professional! Nice work for sure! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  21. Wouldn't load for me? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  22. I think you're being fooled by the strobe effect. Here's an explanation I had laying around. I don't know who the author is, but it explains the effect pretty well: Wheels appear to rotate backwards in movies because of 'strobe effect'. When filming, the camera actually takes a series of pictures. An example of how this works is as follows: Imagine you have a spoked wheel rotating at 50 revolutions per second. If the camera is filming at a rate of 50 frames per second (taking 50 individual pictures each second) then the wheel would be in the same position every time the picture was taken. When viewing the film it would appear that the wheel was not moving. Now, slow the wheel down a little bit and it would be slightly behind the position it was in when the previous frame was shot. Now the wheel would appear as if it is rotating backwards because you are not viewing the continuous motion of the wheel, but rather the positions of the wheel every 1/50th of a second. That's probaby it! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  23. Wow this is very cool! Excellent work, the treads look great. 2 things, NOT CRITS BTW... 1. I think the bot with the no head is spinning the wrong way based on the tread movement???? 2. what's up with the nulls being so far off thier body parts? Cool stuff, thanks for posting!
