  1. I agree, keep up the great work. Doug
  2. Nice work ! Eee gads that stuff on your site is terrific. Tell us more about the short you're planning- the poster looks great. Doug
  3. Outstanding design and modeling. Great work. Doug
  4. Great looking Bot ! Doug
  5. Love his proportions. He reminds me (proportionally) of our old salesman. Man could that guy pack away the fried rice !! I really like how his belly moves. Doug
  6. Daniel - Thanks for the suggestions. I must say, as I forgot to in the original post, that the logo was not made by me (wish I had). It was done by David Titus a fellow who does that sort of thing for a living. I have just applied it as a decal on the little placque. I have thought on it and decided to scrap the idea of the floor but have a better idea. I'll update this thread. Doug
  7. Hi gang - Attached is my logo and the start of a little 'signature' that I'll be showing at the beginning of my film(s). I have a short short animation planned for it that I'll be working on and posting here. I'm going for a very shiny floor but so far its not working out. Also I'm getting some major banding on the floor. Is this a lighting issue? Doug
  8. I have an old one by Alchemy Mindworks called GIF Construction Set. It was $25 us dollars in 1999. Hope that helps. Doug
  9. Thanks alot Jim ! After I read your post I went and googled Peter Max. Your comment really flatters me. Funny too as I was just coveting the Yellow Submarine dvd I saw in Barnes and Noble the other day. So charming and hip. Motivating comments for sure! And now back to work. Doug
  10. Very cool. Puts a real smile on my yap! Perhaps you could round out the pupils? They currently look a bit square. Doug
  11. Thanks for the comments Dale. Yes, you're right on regarding the feet lifting high. I'm going for a bit of a bird-like quality so that's why I decided to push that motion. Hey Mendi - please try again sometime. And thanks for your comments and encourgement. One of these days I'll post my tweaked rocket landing with the addition of the sky too. Doug
  12. Hello all - Moving ahead ever so slowly but progress is progress. Here is a walk cycle for my main character (still very much a WIP). Feel free to offer your suggestions re: the animation side. Thanks to Sonofpat for the help with the mesh. And thanks again to Dagoos for hosting these files. Onion Head WalkA (wip) Cya, Doug
  13. Maybe it's me but that clip didn't sound like Pavoratti. The voice seemed lower and fuller. Not that it matters to your animation though. Nice job. Doug
  14. I think it is a beautiful scene and at first look I was smiling at it. At second look I was looking at it from the perspective of all the other comments but I was still smiling. I think by employing some changes (the terrain addition in particular) this image would be most magical. Please do keep at it and update this thread. A fine fine job ! I'm a sucker for this kind of thing can you tell? Oh and I'd like to see how you did the sky as well. If I could get your model I'd like to (one day) try my hand at lighting a scene this strongly as well. Doug
  15. Wow Dale that's terrible news. Sorry for both you and your friend. I hope he rallies and pulls through this. It seems trite to comment on your bike now but I think it looks swell and moves great. Doug
  16. Fantastic piece of work. I love the little tongue licking the icepop ! Makes me smile even after the fifteenth viewing. Thanks for posting it guys. Doug
  17. Bill - Nice progress, i'm enjoying the ride. What of your other project with the GeezerBot ? I was enjoying that one too. Doug
  18. I'll second that ! Doug
  19. I want this film ! So very fresh looking. Can't wait for the dvd. I have a theory - they are father and son (hence the duel hehehe). Best of luck with this project, it already appears to be sucessful. Doug
  20. Hello all - Attached is a small project that was done as a gift for my wife. It is now considered complete but I'm still open to your impressions and critique. Note - very special thanks to Yves for his wonderful wood texture tutorial and to David Dustin for rendering this for me. Doug
  21. Love this guy and the set looks terriffic. This is a neat idea to eliminate the legs, thereby eliminating all those joint/rigging worries. Maybe I'll design all my characters this way and also eliminate the shoulders ! hehe Anyhow, he's loaded with personality. Is he magical somehow? Doug
  22. Dale - This looks great. Is he hovering or moving? If moving it would be neato to see some smoke/fire trail. He oozes personality this guy. Doug
  23. Thanks for your replies. Robcat - I see what you mean re: parallel elements. My eye didn't pick that up until you said that. Good one! How would I do that, just by adjusting the camera? I'm storing that idea away. Rvaudrin - Thanks alot for your very nice comments. I also see what you mean about the size of the male flower. I was going for high contrast between the male and female, and trying to make the male very strong - sort of playing on the romantic "ideals" of both sexes. Perhaps I went a bit too far. The project is now finished with the exception of rendering and printing. I needed to stop in order to finish this up by Christmas. I have learned a whole lot in doing this and I appreciate everyone's guidance along the way. Doug
  24. Thanks Zach ! Yupper still need to lengthen those stems, thanks for the reminder! Here's another minor update. I added fog to give a bit of a dreamy quality. Now working on rendering for print. Doug
  25. Friday update. Changed lighting a bit, changed pose a bit, and adjusted the camera angle. This has to be about done, and though I'm pretty pleased with how it's turning out I'd still be open to some focused critique (ya know for the next one). Doug
