Fantastic! I like the lights that move...the ones that just sit there need a little motion as well. Great graphic!

2011/v16.0 Mascot Contest
John Bigboote replied to Jason Simonds's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Yeah... 18,090 years isn't enough time? Jason sure knows how to pack a paragraph with typos! I love it! -
Quicktime Pro to the rescue... My audios may be a little loud... feel free to mix their volumes down if needed. BUSSTOP_Matt_Campbell_2_small.wav

I can do one or 2... tell me which one needs it and where to find it.

The links are live now...as of 2:00P THU 11/11 EDT. I had filled up my DropBox account because I have switched from rendering to PNG from JPG because of the new 'FastAO'... which, by the by- I used on my 2nd Bus Stop movie and it worked wonderfully... 5 passes at 1280X720 res... 1 minute per frame and looking great!

Robcat- Here are links to my 2 Bus Stop animations in Quicktime format with sound effects embedded. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5257446/BUSSTOP_Ma...ell_1_small.mov http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5257446/BUSSTOP_Ma...ell_2_small.mov The one I had posted previously was WAY uncompressed, and very large- sorry about that... these two are 8 and 12 mbs. Thanks! (Note: Posted to Dropbox at 11:00 Thursday EDT, may take an hour or so for Dropbox to process...until then you get a 'woops...404' screen)

I was thinking about your question #1... Rob outlines some very good tried and true methods... here is one I envision but have not tested: Your camera 1 is the one that will render, all others can be placed where needed. Toggle thru the 1 key to see and adjust the various cameras. Apply an 'orient like' and 'translate to' constraint to camera 1... initially with target to camera 2 and enforcement to zero, for the first shot. Then, adjust enforcement to 100% for cut to second camera. Then, change the target to camera 3 for shot 3...and so on. Q2... render overnight and weekends. Use lower settings for tests. Version 16 will have some render speed improvements. Q3... you can use the page up/down keys to adjust your realtime subdivision levels, OR you can set these per model by toggling on the keys that appear by each model in the choreography...(See image) bound or vector settings will be easier on your realtime processor and should play smoother. More RAM and staying up to date on video card drivers helps too, natch. Welcome Wermus!

Where can it be found? (the imagery?) -

A reference image. Apologies in advance to those who offend easily. The body splines courtesy of Serg2, the head/face mine. Nipples are simple decals with a color map for color and a displacement map for further anotomical accuracy and/or embellishment for visual appeal.
-
YES! I could look at this stuff all day... there's something really wrong with me... but I'm not in a real hurry to change, just yet. Serg2 did a most 'illuminating' female body and gave the model away here on the forum some 4-5 years ago... something to search for and study. Brilliant minimal splinesmanship. Looking at your splines, I can see you are on the right track... nice minimal splineage...perhaps almost too minimal. The 1st thing I would look at is the cross-section that goes horizontally thru the breasts... click on that so you see the bias handles and hit the 'comma' key so that all the CPs on that spline are highlighted... then hide everything else. Now, from a top view (5) grab those bias handles...especially in betwixt the 'mounds' and shape them the way they should form. ALSO I would look to add one more round spline to each 'puppy' to help with the roundness that make them so... y'know. THEN--- start thinking about nipples! Displacement or geometric... both have merits, LIFE IS GOOD! Undo those hooks and bring them lower so you can use their splines to define a ribcage... bellybuttons are fun to model too.

Lookin good! Lotta copy-paste? "My uncle is doing nine-to-ten at Levenworth"... an old 3 stooges line...
-
Wow. Back of the envelope calculations... awesome. Beats my 'eyeball and fudge' approach.

Beam me up! Looking fantastic... love to see you try animating this. I forgot to tell you if you go to NASA they have some fantastic backdrops for you.
-
Wow. Great modelling! LOVE the blue green wash from the tree shadow... how did you get that? Who are all the people posting the comments on your Youtube video? Are you showing it to fans of the show? You sure get a lot of viewings. I'm curious also as to what your plans are with all this, are you going to go after the job? Do you take these models thru to the rigging stage? I'd love to see some animation... especially on the faces... YOU THE BEST!
-
Dang! Slick lookin ship! I'd like to see you pout it over a starfield or spacey background to help it 'pop'...
-
Rob- I added sound... looking for my mikeyphone to do a narration track... where is it? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5257446/BUSSTOP_Matt%20Campbell1.mov I just replaced the old file on Dropbox and it takes a while before it 'registers'... so if there is no audio now, retry in about an hour.

New work I've been crying over...
John Bigboote replied to new guy's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
That really has the 'sportscenter' look and feel... GREAT stuff, Shawn! You should'nt be called 'new guy' anymore... -
Thanks guys! I took Rob's advice and tried the new FakeAO on my dude... also reworked his mouth a bit. I am in awe of what the FakeAO did for the look... defined the edges... gave a great albeit 'fake' AO look to him in NO TIME at all... yesterday I used real AO in V16/64 and took 1.5 mins per frame... this is 16/32 at 6 sec (2 sec per pass) which is zippity-doo-dah-FAST! You can REALLY see the FakeAO effect around his eyes and nose... it pops them right out! Here's the link to it in the FakeAO forum: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?act=a...st&id=53090

I took a week away last week... but came back and did a little more weighting on this guy... next, I want to rework the mouth, I think. This is a loop. CartoonHeadHatTrick.mov
