Well, it been over 2 months since I sent Paul the set. Is this project ever going to get off the ground?
There's all kinds of different ways to do the transition, I think you're worry too much about it.
You could try decaling your model or using a patch image for the fur, then you can lower the density of the hair material. Then add a second image to the decal container or patch image to drive the color of the hair.
The camera should be all set. You just need to set the render options to render from the camera. It's set up to render just like the bus stop to a folder (Render To File), in the project folder. All the participant needs to do is add their name to it. The project was already to be distributed.
I find that the RGB values in SSS are relative to the scale of the model. For example, this model is roughly 5 feet tall, but if it was 20 feet tall, these setting probably wouldn't work too well. I would go with the higher numbers.
I can't take credit for the modeling, just the modifications. This is the jungle queen model, modeled by Jim Talbot. I just pushed and pulled cps around til I got the look I wanted (magnet and mirror mode ON).
SSS settings are 6,4,5 at 150.
Thanks guys.
Well, wasn't happy with the hair. here's a new render.
EDIT....I'm such an idiot, I forgot to turn ON SSS. I knew something didn't look right.
