  1. Also, the preview image in shaded mode will be MUCH rougher than the actual render. Just click the quick render mode button, then click again in the choreography window. Wait a bit and you should see pretty much what your final render will be. Hope that helps.
  2. NICE!... I like! Excellent work Stian!
  3. Those look choice for the Extras-DVD set to publish this year!... get ahold of Rodney!
  4. Not that I'm aware of. There may be some polygon models on the net that you can import to use as a 3D rotoscope. Be bold! Be the first!... Make your own Battlestar Galactica models for A:M!
  5. John either needs to lower his caffine intake or get some eyelids put on him... Lookin good!
  6. Well done... excellent modeling as usual! Roger-Roger!
  7. This is a known issue with that model. Your fix is the correct one. There is also a fixed version of KeeKat on Hash's site. I don't have the direct link at the moment. Welcome to A:M forums... I look forward to seeing more from you.
  8. Russel, Don't forget you can use A:M to do the compositing work and it will retain and use lighting information from each layer! Give it a shot... you may be suprised by the results.
  9. That's cool... can't wait to see what happens next! Good job Gazzamataz!
  10. WOW... WOW... WOOHOHOW... all I can say is wow! Cory, you have a gift! Great work!
  11. Create a new, blank model... right-click in the model window and select plug-ins->wizards->Primitive and set the primitive for a sphere. Then you just set your parameters and hit 'create'... and viola, a sphere of your specifications. You will be hard pressed to get a TRUE sphere in A:M, but often it's not necessary to get a perfectly true sphere.
  12. I always liked the classic as well as TNG and Voyager. DS9 kind of lost my interest after the first 2 seasons. You are making excellent progress. Looks spot on with model. All you need now is a little bit of grunge.
  13. When you say it drops frames... are you in shaded mode? or wireframe? or possibly shaded wireframe? MACs historically have been slower running A:M. (Unless I am mistaken) The main problem I can see is the video card you have doesn't have enough RAM. I had a PC with a low RAM card and it too experienced problems with shaded mode. Although I don't think it was as severe. Can you post a screenshot? MAC users will surely try to help as well.
  14. Yeah, I forgot about that part... Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow Zach! EDIT: ... yes A:M does allow 1.185 precision.
  15. Speaking of Depth of Field... looks like there is a bug with the Final Renders in A:M without multipass in V13 Beta 1 AND V12v+. Not sure if this is normal or not... doesn't look right to me. I'm off to A:M Reports it looks like...
  16. When you turn on the 'depth of field' option just change to the 'top' view and look at your camera 'cone', you will see three planes in that cone now that are the three settings for 'depth of field'. Simply grab the center frame and drag it to where you want your focus to be. Likewise, drag the farthest plane (far focus) which is where you want things to start to blur behind your primary focus. And the same for the near plane (near focus), which is where you want things in the forground to begin to blur in front of your primary focus. Here's what I'm talking about... [attachmentid=16671] You may have to play with the location of these planes to get the effect you want. Somewhere on these forums is a short demonstration/tutorial on Depth of Field... I just can't seem to locate it. Hope that helps.
  17. If you are going to encode directly to DVD and it's final rendering... I suggest using D1 (NTSC) or D1 (PAL) depending upon what region you live in. If it's preview rendering, use 352x240 (half res, 1/4 rendering area) as this will cut down on rendering time and get you the same proportional render (wide format). The resolutions are pickable when you set the output resolution in A:M. Allowable picture resolutions are: MPEG-2, 525/60 (NTSC): 720x480, 704x480, 352x480, 352x240 MPEG-2, 625/50 (PAL): 720x576, 704x576, 352x576, 352x288 MPEG-1, 525/60 (NTSC): 352x240 MPEG-1, 625/50 (PAL): 352x288
  18. I believe we exchanged PMs on this very subject only a few days ago... [buttkissing] I would be pleased if you could complete and deliver mine. [/buttkissing]
  19. Seems a bit spline heavy, you can probably loose these splines as well as others without loosing your shape. Your mechanical modeling is wonderful... keep up the good work!
  20. That's 'Ryan'. It's actually on the edge of the CD near the character. Really small print.
  21. For historical fun I'll include all the ones that have the mascot names on the discs. I dont' know what was on the 2001 disc... I think I skipped that year as well as the 2005 as I don't have the Sorserez CD either. 1996 colorful dinosaur (no name on CD for mascot Disc title 'Model Library') 1997 colorful dinosaur (no name on CD for mascot Disc title 'Model Library' with roman numeral 5) 1998 Meltdown from Avalanche Software 1999 Ryan from Avalanche Software 2000 Dennis from Raf Azovin 2001 ?
  22. ROFL... Sternitalia! AHahahahahahaa That's funny. Good job!
  23. Oh, my bad, that's only in V13 (which is now in Beta and Requires the Yeti CD) Get it here if you wish. NOTE: If you save files in version 13, you can't open them in version 12.
  24. Are you using a light rig for your 'Global Illumination' or Ambiant Occlusion? There is an article here that will explain what Ambiant Occlusion (AO for short) is. There is a short and quick tutorial here on how to set it up in A:M. Hope that helps you out... wonderful work! I can't wait to see the full tutorial!
  25. Heheh... that's funny... and yes, ceramic animals are EEEVIL!
