  1. Like you said the corners could use some work, but other than that it looks great.
  2. First time I've seen this thread. Very ingenious.
  3. Another small update. I finished the bottom armor on the tail. I think I will start on the arms and legs now. I'll probably do the hands and feet last, so will work on the wings after the arms and legs. I'm working on the next Image contest that's why my posts have been little ones .
  4. This is look real good. I can see this as a news opener.
  5. Hey John, I use proj maps all the time. THey work great for lots of situations.
  6. That is great. How'd you get that texture on the face so well. I thought that was a shot from a cinematic from a vid game at first, haha.
  7. He's really turning out. You can also do "Shift+1" to show normals. Lot faster than going through the menu.
  8. Seriously, where have you been! That is a great fish.
  9. I agree with hypnomike on his comments. I'd also like to ask what "Sweeper" is and what you did with it to create the grass?
  10. I got to say this is turning out to be my favorite scene of yours so far. Maybe it's my love of forests .
  11. Hey this project is pretty good. I like the characters alot. I think you could use a starfield in the Opening Sequence though.
  12. Hey Dark, it's coming along great. One of these days I'll be able to finish a project myself -- or even come up with one .
  13. The Heron is beautiful. I hope you can get the first act done on time.
  14. Nice palm tree. Looks like my hair in the wind .
  15. Saw the newer pics with her and the sword. Awesome!
  16. I've seen teddy bears with legs like that, so that doesn't bother me at all. I like it.
  17. Are you using porcelain? I can't help but admire the modelers out there who do this mechanical modeling like you and others. Everytime I try -- well -- it doesn't go very well, haha.
  18. I love the style of the modeling. I also like that camera perspective. It's coming along nicely.
  19. The thing that trips me up is the eyeblink. It seems a little slow to me. Other than that I like the mouth shapes.
  20. I'm not really an expert on rigging so I can't help there. I still wanted to post and let you know that I like the character so far .
  21. Your textures are turning out great on your tree.
  22. Thanks for the reply guys. Yves: Yeah, I'm trying to put alot of detail in the splinage instead of the the textures. Really just trying to see how far I can push my pc . I think if I Copy/Flip/Attached right now I would have a little over 3,000 patches. Rodney: Like most of things I make -- um -- I make it because I felt like it, haha. I don't really have plans for it. Maybe it will pop in in a future Image Contest -- if I ever finish it. Hutch: Another reason I am making this guy is to see if I can make credible displacement maps that will turn out well. So I guess it's a modeling and texture excercise for me. Thanks again for the comments. Keep 'em comin'!
  23. Another little update. I finished all the torso horns for now. Any rendering artifacts you see between the horns is caused by me not finishing the modeling on the other side of the model . I figure since I will be Copy/Flip/Attaching everything I don't really need to. Let me know what you think.
