  1. Yeah, it's PC only for now. Sorry. If anyone can find Marcel Brickman...
  2. The "Post plugins" folder has .pfx plugins in it. Put it there.
  3. Is Marcel Brickman completely incommunicado?
  4. I've never tried it before! Here's a bit of oddness created by sweeping the "Detection Sensitivity" setting from 0 to 100 with this randomly grabbed image... SumiH450.mov
  5. The sumi plugin seems to load properly in v15j+. I haven't tried it beyond that.
  6. I edited the title just to increase the chance that it might catch the eye of one of our many fine A:M modelers.
  7. Here's a rough cut of a tutorial on Rendering that should cover it... link temporarily disabled
  8. Welcome to A:M! - If you are rendering to AVI, the only "compressor" setting that works in A:M is "Full Frames (uncompressed)" It will make a huge file tht you will want to recompress in some other manner, most likely. 64-bit A:M doesn't have QuickTime but the 32-bit version(which you can install and run also... copy your master0.lic file from the 64-bit folder to your 32-bit A:M folder) does and has more compression options. -The Initbound thing is a bug that will be fixed in the next version of v17. There is some work-around discussion here: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44552&hl=
  9. I believe you can drag one from the Images folder OR... on the model in the PWS to do New>Decal
  10. Apparently some previous discussion "RPC Server Unavailable"
  11. News to me. I've not heard of that one before. A chat room thing, maybe?
  12. It means that A:M couldn't find the text that it would normally display during that action ( a pop up tip or status line message). It's not a problem with your model. I AMreport them when I encounter them in current versions, most are fixed.
  13. In v17 and probably earlier versions... CTRL-s is tied to saving the PRJ rather than the model. It brings up the save dialog IF the project has not been previously saved with a name. Saving an mdl needs to be done with an >Save or Save As. There doesn't seem to be any option the Customize window to set a keyboard shortcut for saving a model. Current versions of A:M have an optional backup feature that will periodically save your work every X minutes.
  14. It should select every non-locked, non-hidden CP, even those off the edge of the screen.
  15. Rodney Thank you once again for your help. Much appreciated. Might be a bit tricky without images (?) but here is the project file without images or models. regards Simon Why_Composite.prj Yeah I can't tell much from that. Have you tried just making the image rotoscopes in a camera in a blank chor? I think you can have more than one and can adjust their order by dragging in the PWS.

    Beer can

Hey, I didn't catch that. Nice cans!
  17. I think there is something not entirely correct about how this works. In v17 I don't get a Shadow Buffer option with EXR. I do with v16. When you do a render with Shadow Buffer ON, you need to have a shadow catcher in the chor, typically the ground set to Shadows only. The shadow information will show up in the alpha buffer of what appears to be a black image. Possibly incorrectly this gets named "Alpha buffer" OpenEXR also creates a shadow buffer when it has light buffers, but this shadow buffer is only the shadow that is visible to the camera, not the complete shadow that a shadow catcher can render. If you are doing something that uses shadow buffers you probably need to do three passes. -the object casting the shadow -the shadow -the ground then you would have three separate elements that can be properly composited in a compositing program.
  18. I'm not sure on that. If you want each light separate then choose "each light in it's own buffer?". "Light Objects" is a way to combine several lights into one buffer and I think the "light object" needs to be defined in the Chor somehow.
  19. OpenEXR buffers make it possible to change lighting after you render and that includes FakeAO. Here's how to add FakeAO to a previously rendered image. FakeAOinAMComposite.mov You will see substantial banding in the images in the video. That is an artifact of the screencapture software, not A:M. OpenEXR sequences can be quite large and slow for A:M to step through. OpenEXR does have compression options, which i don't demonstrate in this video, that may help negate some of that.
  20. Yes... are you doing this as a Composite project in the Images folder or in the Chor?
  21. I remember that page! Happy Birthday!
  22. You might try turning on the ETC filter. I've not tried copying CP props.
  23. If I understand what you are asking, very careful ctrl-clicks on CPs is the way to do it. I have often thought a tool that would let you select a spline, then adjust the bias of the crossing splines en masse would be a handy thing.
  24. Good-looking lighting! Is that A:M DOF in the hospital bed shot? or did you do that in post?
  25. I can't quite visualize what you are describing but I'll note that if you have the properties window open you can select a CP, it's "untitled' group properties will have "bias" settings and you can click and drag left or right on any value to adjust it without having to type in values. That may not have been implemented in v11 but I think it was.
