  5. I don't think you should composite the final image unless there's no way to render it all at once. Maybe it's feasible to render sprites separately but sprites aren't really all that time consuming unless you need shadows out of them. If you have to composite them I suppose it might work like that way i composite "glow" in my "It Can't Be Done" tutorial.
  6. I like the idea of the streaming particles. With two months to R&D it I think it can be done.
  7. there are some bones visible in that thing that are a mystery to me. Like I'm not sure what "ArmControl" is intended for. It's possible that some bones are visible that should not be... but i don't know.
  8. Do you mean the bones names "clavicle"? Those you animate directly to adjust the shoulder when you wish to. They won't be dragged around by the IK arm.

  10. It's ironic that they were so careful to use underscores instead of spaces in their pose names but then left a leading space on the front of one. D'oh!
  11. I think I've found it! There was a leading space on one of the Pose names " OLAAfans_DoNotTouch" in the original file. Somehow that is correctly interpreted when the original file is loaded but lost or corrupted on resave causing all of the constraints in that Pose to not work. I text edited it out of the original file then loaded and resaved that from v18 and have sent you that v18 MDL. Try it out. I haven't looked to see if the smartskins are working. Those are sometimes trouble on old models.
  12. This is quite a riddle. To look at the relationship properties it appears that the constraints are there and properly targeted and yet, they stop working.
  13. I just got a bunch of PM notifications that were about a year old. I had read the messages long ago, but only now am i getting notice that they arrived.
  14. It's something peculiar to this old v8 format. If i resave in v10.5 that file is able to be reloaded and still work in v10.5. That is a small success. I notice that I get an error when i resave. "file argument" or something like that. Also the v8 file is crashing my text editor which is weird.
  15. I notice that in the v8 file the Hips are constrained to KHips but after I resave in v11 the target becomes ..|KHips and the Hip Null no longer functions. A search and replace that eliminates all the ..| in the resaved file may be part of the solution.
  16. I believe that character that appears as an I in a constraint properties is really a | (a vertical bar, the character above the backslash on my keyboard) It signifies something of a change of directory level in a path. You may see there are also some dots before it.
  17. That that doesn't make sense. Something is embedded in the prj and yet A:M is creating a file name for it and a file path to save it to? Send it to me. You can attach it in a PM.

  19. If all else fails, Help>Reset Settings should undo any mistaken window dragging.
  20. I would definitely do this. If you aren't familiar with text editing my "It Can't Be Done" series explains how to get started with that. If v18 is incorrectly interpreting or resaving old models that would be a bug to document and report. In the mean time dont' write over that old original file! If you want me to look at it I could do that.

  22. So we're going to be seeing all blank avatars on old posts unless someone happens to come by and update their user profile which could be years or never. That will look very vacant. I wonder if there's any way to capture member's present avatars and transfer them.
  23. I don't have a laptop but if there's a way to avoid using the Intel graphics while you are running A:M... definitely do that.
  24. Right now it looks painfully generic, almost like the Hash forum had been shut down and taken over by a URL squatter. Will you be able to make it look like what we have now with the logo at the top? Also when i try my tutorials link at the bottom of one of my posts on that new forum it comes to this forum, so when this forum goes away... it will be a dead link. I can fix my signature but there are zillions of links in posts on this forum that point to other posts on this forum. Is that something that will automatically be fixed or are those going to go dead too?
  25. Will it be able to have the cool stuff Rodney did with the banner at the top and other customizations? And is there anything on this forum that we will be losing as far as attachments in old topics? I recall that some previous forum move in the past resulted in lots of old files no longer being accessible, they just have dead links.
