  1. Also watch the bicep/forearm connection (elbow). It looks like it can be wacked off with a butter knife. Police robot! Scary thought
  2. I'm only using common sense here, no prior experience or anything. Rule of thumb: CYA! Get everything done in writing, have them sign a contract with you. Make sure they stipulate that their work is original and that it is being recorded and distributed for you and by you. If I were you I'd hire a lawyer who is in the entertainment business to draw up such contracts. The last thing I'd want is a law suit that sends me to the poor house! Good luck.
  3. Page cannot be displayed
  4. Now I see seven's point, but what's with the title "the biggiest"? What's a biggiest anyway? I think the reason why there aren't many animation clips with sound is either lack of owning a web site that can host such clips and/or the limit of file size in this forum to accomodate such clips (as is with my case). Is there a formula that calculates how much of one's project to render, with sound, that keeps the file under the maximum file size acceptable to load in this forum?
  5. huh?
  6. Much better. The first one looked rubbery.
  7. That tree looks good. Reminds me of the work of Eyvind Earl (The Earl) http://www.gallery21.com/
  8. I like your sense of observation, how you moved the hips side to side. Gives a sense of attitude. Everything looks good, you may want to tweak the stride a bit, it looks like there's a bit of sliding. Good work
  9. I agree. One has to keep the focus on the end product rather than how it got there. I'm old fashioned when it comes to animation, most of my training was on cell animation and 'tweening. I get easily intimated when gizmos don't work in a computer program, so I resort to the tried and true frame-by-frame animation. It's tedious but it gets the job done.
  10. I agree. I can only study and read posts so much. I finally had to make the plunge and basically picked a song and started animating A:M's characters to perform the song. It's an excercise in lip-sync, decals, lighting, showing emotions, animating etc... It's gonna be like a music video, very involved, over 3 and a half minutes long, but hey, I figured I have to start somewhere. I only wish I had more time. In the mean time, I'm learning by the tons
  11. I miss a lot of the details on the car (i.e. hood scoops, thinga-ma-bob on the roof etc..). Also, when lighting a car you'd want the light reflections to accentuate its lines. The lighting is too soft for something that's supposed to be shiny. Give us the character example to compare, if you can.
  12. NICE! Nice looking water - above water and under water. Good job.
  13. Back to The Abyss. Wonderful work. To make the water a bit 'dirty', could you make a few transparent layers with specks to simulate the dirt? All you need is just a hint of reflecting organisms of the deep.
  14. Right on! Looks good
  15. Hank will not like that
  16. A skylight rig inside R2 that moves with him? What's it do?
  17. Ahh! Thank you Yves. Duly noted.
  18. Now that's an excellent idea! I think you're on to something here. I love the 'just over the sinks' shot (1st one). Cool dramatic shots for the rest of the story board. I think I'll use your idea in the future. Real time storyboarding!
  19. Excellent work. More like The Invisible Man than a ghost.
  20. Awsome piece of work. This was my first choice that I voted for. Looking at the wireframe, what is that round object inside R2 that you don't see in the rendered version? Was the wireframe done as a blueprint?
  21. LOL That was cool. Can you make the lighting actually a glowing electric charge or is the cartoon lightning part of the original design?
  22. Awsome! Just awsome! What is that? 8 cylinders in X formation with 6 intakes? How cool is that!
  23. Yeah, I got the error thing too, which I took as a sign to animate instead of vegitate in front of the forum screen. Hey, great head modeling, keep it up!
  24. Very nice work - I had fun watching the scenes. The smooth camera movements were a real pleasure. Uh... please accept this as a constructive criticism, but the line "This is the traveller requesting permission to land to the council chamber....please"? leaves much to the imagination. How about a small dose of realistic communication, such as "council tower: This the traveller zero five one niner on final approach requesting permission to land on pod three six five zero at the council chamber sector - over" Tower answers back "roger - traveller one niner this is council tower you're clear to land on pod five zero." or something like that, ya know? just to spice things up as a contrast to the smooth camera work and music.
