  1. No, I meant a Rim light. Other lights I would use if I wanted it to light up the entire surrounding. But for a light with a shade, I use Rim light that way I can control which way the beam is directed and its fall-off properties. I also use the Rim as a spot light. A Klieg would be good for a candle, I think, where the light eminates in all directions? Am I right? I don't know.
  2. What I would do is import a Rim light, change its color and intensity to whatever is desired, place it inside the light bulb, adjust the direction, constrain it to the bulb (Translate to and Orient like - both with compensate), and then adjust the cone to the desired effect. You'll just have to experiment with different light models to get the desired results.
  3. CP weighting is assigning a CP to different bones with different percentages. For example; the tip of the toes CPs will be assigned to the toes bone at 100%. The next ring of CPs would be assigned to toe bone 75% while 25% will be assigned to the foot_geom bone, and so on. This will help the CPs to stretch smoothly as the toe bone moves. Steve's video illustrates that point effectively. This part, I think, is the most tedious of the whole modeling process.
  4. CP weighting will differ from one model to the next. I am weighting every CP, which is why its taking me so long. But I think it'll be worth it in the end to have a model that will move and deform smoothly and properly - I hope.
  5. That's pretty good. I don't think you need a squash & stretch for a walk cycle. But what caught my eye was the fact that there was no follow through on the head! Which is why its giving you that "mechanical" feel. After the hip moves forward, you need to follow through the chest and then the head, which will loosen things up. Try not to concentrate too much on one thing, spread the work all over your character.
  6. John, that looks really good. You should animate more man
  7. But of course. Just take a look at one of the car models in the library. Nice cart BTW
  8. Getting back to where I left off, the hip proved to be more trouble than expected since I have more CPs than Sam around that area. However, i discovered that the hip target is not centered where it should be. Is there a way to fix this? Gumbo_Rig_test.mov
  9. You need to send ssappington an email before you upload any movies. Its probably still sitting in Hash's folder.
  10. You have a great imagination, Gerry. I always liked your stuff. The Christmass Snail sounds great and very original. Keep up the good work.
  11. I personally am not fond of facial mocap specifically for that reason. But for major body parts (weight shifts, follow throughs) I wouldn't mind using it.
  12. No man. This is Barry (Bizzle) Zundel's from his training DVD's. The one Xtaz is using is the fat farmhand from the TWO project.
  13. Dhar its driving me crazy; I've seen that model (your speaking one) before. Where else have you used it. I used that character in A:M's last Mini Movie Contest, and 11 SC's last month contest. http://www.youtube.com/user/DharrJJ
  14. I think A:M will be perfect for what you're trying to achieve. Did you check out satyajit's website? He's doing similar business in India.
  15. I always liked your work Jesse. And this is no exception
  16. Is Fog OFF in both render and camera?
  17. Delete the two splines and simply connect the two CPs by addoing a spline.
  18. Could it be ANIMATION:MASTER A Complete Guide by David Rogers ?
  19. Check to see if "Fog" is on. For the animaion; to add to Strohbehn's observations, with so much upper body movement, it makes his feet look like they're set in concrete. A small step would loosen things up tremendously.
  20. That looks pretty good Marcos. I'm still at the blocking stage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh8LF2N5Wx4
  21. Since the Extras DVD is something that is included with the software, ask Hash Inc to send you one. Don't hurt to ask.
  22. Adobe Premiere that I bought on e-bay. 3DPainter.
  23. Have you looked in the Extras DVD that comes with A:M? There many great looking dino models there. T-rex is especially awesome. trex.mov
  24. Your method of modeling is more appropriate for a polygon based program than spline. Not that it can't be done, but if you don't have experience it'll be near impossible to accomplish a satisfactory result. Getting Barry Zundel training DVDs will speed up your learning curve tremendously. Good luck.
  25. I sometimes have this problem when I export a wav file from Audacity. What seems to work is to open that file in Audacity again and re-export it. That seems to do the trick. See if the same works for you.
