That's what I needed to know. You see, when I read to turn something OFF, I'm expecting the thing to be ON in order to turn it OFF. But when I don't see that, I get petrified ( I start thinking "oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, what did I do wrong, what have I done, what did I screw up ...." and on, and on, and on ... LOL And then I get that queezy feeling in my stomach. I never assume that its the percentage that'll do the same thing, I wouldn't know that. I'm not a programmer, so I throw myself in the lap of the forum and pray for help But after I get the help, and it works,... aaaahhhhh.... then I get the nargeelah out and celebrate

Thank you Rusty, that helps tremendously. Now the next thing, and excuse me for being so anal about this, could you please explain how to do step 3.02 ? Does Pose turned OFF means Enforcement = 0% ???
-
Yes, that helps David, now; does "reset compensates" means to change Enforcement from 100 to 0% ???
-
Thanks to Rusty I now have an updated Compensate list. However, I am still stuck on step # 2. Reset torso compensates - I don't see any a., b., c., or d. Please help

Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated.

I'm glad to see this project come to life. These characters are just too good to pass on. Nice work Mark.

Rusty, in my short sightedness, I opted not to install any Microsoft Word, or Spreadsheet when I purchased my computer. Is there any way you could, maybe, transfer that information on a word pad document? Thanks for all your help.

Ah! I was in relationships instead of Use Properties. Thanks Dave. Am I supposed to set "left_knee_orient_like_foot_IK" and "right_knee_orient_like_foot_IK" to 0 ? And can't find any Spines in the Rig Components! Is there an updated list of resets that I don't know about?
-
How come I don't get the pose sliders but you do?
-
-
Now I see it, it does look like that, but it isn't. The modeling window doesn't give true perspective. Notice how the bones on either side retain their length. Weird.
-
Where do you see that? I don't have any bones outside the mesh.
-
OK, so I guess I'm now ready to "reset all compensates", line one says: 1. Turn off the following Poses (if they aren't already turned off) How do I know if the poses are on or off? Second question; may I see a pic of this: "In "Animation_Controls/Arm_Controls": a. left_arm_FK_IK b. left_arm_maintain_orientation_chest_controller c. left_arm_maintain_orientation_shoulder d. steady_right_shoulder (set to 0%) e. right_arm_FK_IK f. right_arm_maintain_orientation_chest_controller g. right_arm_maintain_orientation_shoulder h. steady_left_shoulder (set to 0%) "

Yeah, it looks pretty. I don't know about the colors though, they're kinda dull. How about some fuchsia? Or a little mauve? Just kidding - another fantastic work Stian. Keep it up.

Thanks Jeff - why haven't you started rigging yet? Thank you David. Let me know if anything looks way out of the ordinary here - I know it's not detailed but just from a quick look. And who's Yessir?

Hey, hey, hey...Remy makes it to A:M A far cry from the gum stick figure You've come a long way - nice work. I want a web site like yours. How do I get one?

A couple of questions; am I supposed to assign CPs to "wrist fan geom", and, "hand carpal geom" bones? Thanks
-
You could constraint the sword to a path. A 2 cp path would give you a straight line. And then, depending on the sophistication of your character's rig, constraint the hand to the sword. I personally wouldn't use that path idea. I'd have the character unsheath the sword and then tweak the x,y,z splines in the channel editor.
-
Thanks Chris. So the compensate is supposed to be done after the rig is installed, the INSTALL bones deleted but before CP assignments?
-
Reset the compensate? Which step is that in?
-
-
I may have scaled the eye install bones just so I can match the tutorial example. However, when I was going to try and assign cps to the cheek and jowl bones, the cheek bone is now ear bone???

Like the clip says: "Impressive! Most impressive"
