  1. And depending on how the hardware is configured during the re-installation, may not work on the same machine.

    Cicak

Congratulations! Can't wait to see the finished product!
  3. 2666 patches, 98 5Point patches Remove custom bias settings in arms Add extra splines in arms Create hands Redo a CFA (manually done) Funny thing happened. While I was modeling, all of a sudden I couldn't move CPs. I reloaded the project, didn't help. I exited A:M and restarted it, didn't help. I tried moving a CP a long way, and then it snapped over. I had accidentally clicked on the "Snap to Grid" icon instead of the "Show Manipulator Properties" icon at some point. Although my progress has been slow, it's been fun working on this model. As soon as I add some feet, I'm going to try to resize him to a younger person's proportions. Edit: here are some of the references I've used. I also used some personal photos as reference. Click on them to go to the source: From Athey's DeviantArt page. The facial splineage I used ended up being quite different than this. IDrawDigital has a number of good anatomy-related posts. I've used the 15 Years version, but I'm going to try to switch it to the 10 Years version. The proportions of the 15 Years version were dead on with a profile of a kid in the background of a photo I took a few years ago. This one is just a random photo found using Google Images. I used it before I found the IDrawDigital reference, especially for the shape of the shoulders.
  4. Pretty dark for me, too. Do you have a Mac with a different monitor gamma value? What I can see looks pretty good. A little popping on the arms as they go straight.
  5. If what Robcat doesn't work, post a capture of the camera render properties.
  6. I didn't mean to imply that was a bad thing. Cute overload is the internationally recognized currency of the internet.
  7. I'm sad you missed the deadline. Really high quality stuff.
  8. PNGs and transparency can be a little tricky. I had problems with one that I made in Gimp. mtpeak had the answer to fix what I did wrong when saving a PNG in Gimp.
  9. Much improved! Though you can never go wrong by adding udders on a cow. (Unless it's a bull.)
  10. Separate models as in separate .mdl files? Or just meshes within the same .mdl file that don't touch/interconnect? If they are separate .mdl files, I presume you'd be arranging them together as action objects.
  11. Very nice! Are the whiskers done with "render as lines"?
  12. Thanks so much, agep, for showing the detail. Learning these sorts of things will really help me the next time I model a vehicle. Is the grey groove attached to the panels, or just "floating" with them? In other words, if you select a point on a panel and hit the "/" key, does it select only the panel, or does it select the grey groove and/or other panels?
  13. Very nice looking vehicle. Can't wait to see more! Is there a little bit of a glitch on the passenger (right) side door on the bottom near the front? I don't see it on the driver (left) side door.

Great job! Very clever and creative, as well as well executed!
  15. The 32 bit plugins for v15 would only work on the 32 bit version of v16, not the 64 bit version. Other than that, someone with some actual knowledge on the subject would have to say.
  16. They're not too hard. Click on the show handles button in the toolbar, select a point on a spline, and move it around. But use them sparingly. As rodger_r said, that might be a good place for trying it out. If you find you're doing it all over the place, that could be a sign that you really needed more geometry (cps and splines) to define the shape. But for a one-off place like this, it would work fine.
  17. Way to go! I'm sure there are a lot of in-jokes there. The beginning really has scope ... rivaling the scope of some of John Bigboote's projects!
  18. It looks really really good! I can't wait to see what you do with it in an episode!
  19. I think the behavior you describe might be due to this bug.
  20. One suggestion about the claws ... it might help if they are flatter ... not as tall as they are wide. Also, if the appendages are more than vestigial, they need to be useful for grabbing on to things without getting in the way, such as prey or a branch, etc. The individual fingers/talons as well as the palm should be more flat-shaped on the gripping side than on the outer side.
  21. Thanks, David & Robert. A little more slogging through search results revealed this post by Caroline on bias handles, with a lot of great information (most of it from the two of you!).
