  1. Nice modeling. That certainly would have been a LOT more difficult to do without the Snap-to-surface feature. Really great use of it in a production environment!
  2. Looks really good so far. The hands seem slightly small for the body.
  3. Hey, Astrin, the Wikipedia page has a list of added features. What it doesn't mention is huge advances in stability.
  4. Correction on the store link: http://www.hash.com/store/
  5. If you still need people to put together shots for experimenting putting things together, Steve Shelton and I can put something together, especially if it means that we get quicker access to the general set. Let me know, my email is mouse at intranet dot org.

It's just stunning, Gerry. Quite an achievement. Out of curiosity, how did you come across this song and decide on it as the one to do? Did you know the artist? Do you have plans for more?
  7. Fun stuff ... and kind of spooky! Are you going to go with the every-other-episode format? (i.e. gaming reviews for one, and story for the next) Or mingle in the two in each episode?
  8. I've always thought that reindeer was a little too fond of the drink, if you know what I mean.
  9. The metal poles the chairs are on top of are a bit shiny ... might want to turn that down a little, as well. But other than that, it's quite an impressive set. I can't wait to see what you guys do with it!
  10. True that. That's pretty much my experience.
  11. I'm envisioning a new color, similar to the new red for non-animate mode. Maybe green for Snap to Surface mode?
  12. I was trying to do a similar thing in this thread for an effect like the "Take On Me" music video by the group A-Ha.
  13. I like the latest vantage point. One observation ... it looks a bit far away. Can maybe the focal length be increased by 5% or so?
  14. Neat stuff. The animation certainly proves the model! The suggestion I'd make for the animation is avoid straight-on shot with symmetry. Something not straight on with some asymmetry would make it even more interesting.
  15. It looks very appealing, and very ... stylistically clean! Really good composition. Thanks for sharing!
  16. I noticed you modeled a single eye (-ball), not a left and right eyeball. For incorporating it into my model, I created an "eyes" ON/OFF pose and then added two instances of the eye as action objects. Is that what everyone else does?
  17. Dan, one example of someone combining two tracks (mixing story plus some domain) in the area of software development is Bob Martin's the Craftsman series of articles. From that link, under the "By Topic" column click on "Craftsman". Alternately, maybe one thing you could do is have two tracks ... one of game reviews, and one of story. They could tie in to each other, so if someone got interested in one, they could easily find and follow the other. You could even have references to each other; for example, have one person playing the game in the story-based track, and have someone the characters in the game review track make references to what is going on in the story-based track. You have displayed a lot of talent and skill with this series so far. You seem to have a good aptitude for using A:M, along with other tools to create a finished product -- a show. It's not easy to find a niche that can be profitable, and since I've never done that I don't have a lot of suggestions. Regarding mental health -- we are all ticking time bombs in one way or another. The only suggestions I can think of: 1. Fake it until you make it. 2. Through it all, treat everyone with respect.
  18. I wikified the start of a list of plugins. Feel free to add to it and update it; that's what a Wiki is for. It might be nice to someday break it out and list all plugins individually in a table.
  19. On the software details page, it says "since 1987". It doesn't say which product, but I presume that means Animation:Apprentice.
  20. Is not 2012 the 25th anniversary for Hash? Since 1987?
  21. Looking really good! Rig her (if you haven't already) and call her done!
