  1. Hi Scott! WOW, I wasn't expecting to see a parrot on this thread, great work. Depending on how photorealistic you want things to be it looks ok as is, though the beak could do with specular highlights. It'd be a good idea to keep your basic model to use when it's not in closeup and if you go for more detail use that for closeups. Decals can take up alot of memory so when he's not the centre of attention you could probably do without them. Good luck with your project and keep those posts coming.
  2. Looks even better, great job making your character appear invisible yet still be seen by the viewer.
  3. Hey Paul, I've come across just the info you may need, apologies if you already know this. This is taken from Vern's Happy Bear thread: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...=60entry57099 Vern said: Hope this helps.
  4. Yes I see what you mean about the image, in the original parts of the candles seem to be letting less light through. I can't think why, does anyone else reading this have any idea what is happening here? You may want to see if you get further feedback John and send this to hash support if you get no joy. Good luck.
  5. It's looking alittle smoother now Patrick. If you want to speed the fall up you can delete some frames in the fall sequence. Don't forget to add blinks , they really help bring you character to life. It also helps to turn the head further towards the camera at times so that the viewer gets to see facial expressions as Shaggy puts all that effort in. Hope this helps.
  6. I'm no expert (understatement) on translucency but further info may help. What type of light are you using inside the candles? Are the coloured cylinders the candles or are they glass covers with the candle illuminating from below?
  7. Well I haven't seen a baby dragon so I don't know how typical he/she is! Looks cute though, any chance of animating it? Maybe breathing fire, or would it be sparks and smoke at that age? Keep posting Ken.
  8. Hi Thierry, Your hero is a great peace of work! I like the plaster on his head, it gives us a clue as to the type of person he is. You've put him in a nice setting also, suits him well. Well done Thierry, keep those posts coming. By the way, your English is alot better than my French.
  9. WOW! Great work! Brilliant idea to merge raytraced, toon and hand inking, works really well.
  10. Nice bird, I love the squash and stretch effect. You've handled that very well.
  11. Nice work Kyle! Have you rendered 6000 patches before? If you post a wireframe maybe one of the experienced guys can help with the render problem. May well do, they may be usinga fair bit of memory. When it froze did your computer still work? If you had no other probs check if the hard drive is still being accessed during the 'freeze'. If you don't have enough memory the program will be using hard drive instead of memory making things really slooooow.... Hope this helps.
  12. It looks to me that glow radius not intensity is your problem. Glow radius can be adjusted in the choreography objects properties Default is 15, min 0,max 50. This will determine the size of the halos around glowing objects. Hope this helps.
  13. Hi Rich! That's a great model you're animating, is it one of yours? There are some nice effects in your walk cycle, the skin movement in particular impressed me. I've been watching it on a loop for a while and I have a couple of suggestions which I hope will help. When the back foot comes up heel first it may look a little better if you bend the toe until the foot leaves the floor. It may also help to speed things up a little as the stride appears to be on the slow side. Nothing seems to be happening to the face. I know this is a walk cycle but the face seems to make the character look a little robotic compared to the very human body. It may be better to do this in choreography so that you can introduce more secondary movement without having a face cycle. Hope this helps and keep posting.
  14. Thanks for that Patrick, I'll refer to your post when I start combining actions in choreography.
  15. Hey great work Lee! Nice use of colour and a too cute to be true character. Music also works well, did you use your own? Well done, please keep posting.
  16. Nice work, very expressive! Great attention to detail inside his mouth. Sure do, I enjoyed that film, didn't get the recognition it deserved though.
  17. WOW!! That's great work Graham. If that's crude I can't wait to see the finished version. Well done.
  18. Coming along nicely. Great pose, was it all from a rotoscope or did you have to create the pose yourself? Keep posting your progress.
  19. Nice work as always David. Works well as a loop.
  20. I've always got time for another variation on the door's stuck theme! It's looking good so far, you should maybe consider a slight delay before the door opens ( like it springs open after shaggy catapults away) but other than that no useful suggestions from me. How did you do it? This seems to cause a lot of problems judging by the number of questions posted. I've not tried it yet so any info will help me later. Thanks and keep posting your progress.
