  1. I like the fabric effect you've got so far Robert. Great idea continuing the infinity theme with the buttons! I'm mainly tampering with roughness settings on my hero as I'm pushed for time and haven't done any texturing outside the Art of Animation Master exercises.
  2. Yes you might get away with a 10 second animation under 1 meg. I've found quicktime sorenson3 is good. Play with the size and quality settings. You should get away without keyframes (in quicktime) and this will save you some space. If that doesn't do it you can also render it out at a lower framerate.
  3. He sure does! Are you planning an animation? Great model and wonderful lighting.
  4. Nice heron, can't wait to see this one animated!
  5. Thanks for the feedback Andrew. So far the body armour effect differs from the rest of the outfit in colour and roughness setting only. The skin tight portion of the suit was originally smooth but picked up roughness from the character's skin roughness. This character was adapted from the Tarzan figure on the A:M 2004 disk, the different sections of clothing are simply grouped patches from the original. I take you're point about the armour and bumps, I'll experiment along those lines and post again. Thanks again. Mike
  6. You're getting there Hutch although he does look to be moving a little fast. Maybe it's me but I see your fish as slow moving, like a Coy Carp.
  7. Started to add a little texture to the figure.
  8. Nice work Gary, it's great watching your world come to life.
  9. That's a big improvement to an already exceptional picture. I think you are right to have doubts about the big flower in the foreground though. The eye is naturally drawn to red and the foreground flower is the largest patch of red. It's a good idea to have something blurred in the foreground to frame and maybe add depth to the picture. You'd maybe consider replacing it with some greenery which should add depth without drawing attention from the flowers. Hope this helps. Mike
  10. Hey Mark you've morphed again! I agree with Rodney. You could have your hero look up as he's spotted the offscreen monster, his eyes follow as the monster falls and we get to see it briefly as it lands. You could maybe cut to a close up of your terrified hero?
  11. WOW! That fish is amazing Hutch!
  12. Nice job Robert, it's really starting to take shape.
  13. Maybe too much Ribena! (If you don't have Ribena in the states this'll fall on deaf ears!) It's a blackcurrent drink BTW! Here's a couple more, he will need a bit of adjustment to rigging due to my tampering with the presumably functioning original!
  14. Hi folks! I've been working on this in my spare time. As I have little experience in building models from scratch this one is a modified Tarzan from the A:M 2004 disk. I've yet to apply textures. What do you think?
  15. Love your hero Andy! He's really starting to come to life.
  16. Great work David and good luck in the competition.
  17. Hi David! You've made a good start there although it needs a little tweeking. The transition from the grass at the back looks man made rather than natural as does the contours of your hill. This may, of course, be intended but if it isn't I'd introduce a little randomeness into those shapes. Hope this helps and please post the fly over.
  18. Cool animation, very professional! You shouldn't need to add any further details to the screens, given that they are already showing images and are not on screen for long. As you're planning a countdown and flash from the tower I'd complete the effect before considering extra tower detail. It sounds like the viewers attention will be focused on relatively small area so extra detail may not be needed. Good luck and keep posting!
  19. The texture on the books looks fantastic! I know it may be a little surreal but when you animate have you considered animating the waterfalls in the picture on the wall? Keep up the good work Daniel. Best Wishes Mike
  20. Shows what a great system you've got, a glance through the modeling list tells me over half of them are now complete. Checking them off must help spur you on.
  21. Boy, you're sure making good progress Mark! I like your room and the odd shaped door works really well. You may consider reducing the halos on the lights. The ones to the front in particular distract attention from the scene behind. The light cast on the room it's self work well although I'd like to see a little more in the far corner. Hope this helps. BTW Have you changed your avatar or am I mixing you up with someone else?
  22. Great effect, I think I wouldn't have noticed the lack of reflection if I was watching the scene as part of a longer animation. My attention was focused on your spaceship. Are you going to use sprites and repost for comparison??
  23. Very nice! What are you planning to do with your character?
