Great news! Well done to all concerned.

Tough break. If you decide to do a mark two I'll bet they'll look even better.

I also think the boots would be better as one colour. My opinion is to do them the same colour as the gloves, make both either black or green. Keep posting. This is an interesting thread.

Great work shaun! Very atmospheric. Hope you find time to work on it soon.

Great work Delaney! Can't wait for the end result. BTW the knee seems to be lower than in the concept art, still works though. Keep posting your progress!

Logo animation with theme
hypnomike replied to D.Joseph Design's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Nice work Daniel! Cool logo, the music suits the intro well. -
Very nice job there Mike! Better than a lot of stuff on TV. Are you pitching this for TV, or maybe video/DVD? How long will the finished version be? BTW is the story board on the animal song video what is referred to as an animatic? I ask this because I've often come across the term but never fully grasped what it is. Wishing you all the best with your project. Keep us posted.

Looks even better with the position change. Are you planning an animation involving daleks? The BBC are making Doctor Who in animation (Richard E Grant voices the doctor) due out any time soon and a new live action Doctor Who is due out next year. It's unclear if the daleks will appear as the late Terry Nation held copyright on the name and BBC hold copyright on the actual dalek.

They sure do! 256 passes is an awful lot though. Are you going to experiment with this to find the best compromise with render time vs. quality? (I'm assuming here that you're going to have some form of animation in the final version). Good luck, it's really coming along nicely.

Even better! The lighting has made a huge difference. Keep posting!

For the trailer you could do a series of slow motion shots of main characters. Probably works best as close up as they move head and change expression. Maybe use a background sound track suggesting action (eg battles) You could take this further with shots of the various craft in action. Hope these ideas help, chew them over they may provide a starting point for further thoughts. Best Wishes Mike

Look forward to the next version Steve! It's a great idea, nice twist to the original. You've done a very good job with the landing after the kick. Just a few tweeks with the timing and you're there. Well done!

Nice one Parlo! Some nice reactions in there. You've really given the figure personality.

Cool model!

Great charachter(s) Xtaz! Are you planning to have him change skin to suit backgrounds or is one of them the evil twin? look forward to seeing them in motion Cheers

WOW!!!

It's looking good Jess! Soundtrack is amazing, can't wait to see this in higher resolution. The main characters look good but could maybe use a little more facial expression. Other than that I can't offer advice to improve on your effort. Keep posting Jess!

Nice render Daniel! The only thing I'd change is the texture on the chair legs, the grain looks odd. But you're doing that anyway! Shape of chair looks fine to me. Keep posting!

My current project (Mr Peanut)
hypnomike replied to Lord Python's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Talking peanut eh..? Great idea, I've not progressed to decals yet so can't give any useful advice on that. Good luck with the project though, keep posting your progress. -
Hi Christina! Just stumbled across this thread so I've read it right through. It gives a beginner like myself a fascinating insight on how a project evolves. The images are beautiful, I will follow your project's progress with interest. Thanks for allowing us to follow your work. Best Wishes Mike

I agree! Series will give you a bigger potential audience and each completed episode should spur you on to the next. Looking forward to the first! Best of luck Mike

Hi Starwarsguy! I like the lack of colour, works well with this image. I think you should use artistic licence and dump the cables. Experiment with camera angles, this one makes for a flat image. Look forward to seeing the completed pic. Best wishes Mike

Great model Eugine! A definite candidate for mascot, don't forget to enter!

No offence taken here Steve!

Sure we do! The dalek on the left is called Fred and the one on the right is Steve, his half cousin! Seriously though, great work Jeff. I agree with Ken about the one on the right looking as if he is in shade but I'm sure thats just the different textures. The shape and scale look good. They varied throughout the series so I guess there's no definative shape and size. Anyway I'm going to hide behind the sofa! See you.
