  1. 104th out of 189. All the comments were good, just didn't score well. I'll try again, maybe not this month... I hear there is an A:M Mascot contest afoot!
  2. Yeah- that's how it works. I thought he was having trouble just getting back into D mode, you only get 1 go at it.
  3. 6 years later... still good stuff!
  4. Can you reset it by going back into bones mode and then back into distortion mode?
  5. I see they give A:M a little prop in their website, we rank just before 'etcetera'... Entries can be character animations in any medium, from CG animation (Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, Animation:Master, etc.) to traditional 2D animation to stop-motion. Consider posting your progress videos in the Work in Progress forum. Feedback and criticism will make your animation stronger! If you have time to kill, try to find mine and give it some hyper-critical comments- but a good ranking!
  6. Can you put part 1 up on Youtube too? AND- Was the red car (2nd one down) an A:M image?
  7. Yeah... from here... you have about 1 month! I better get thinking!
  8. Thanks! The hair, volumetric light, and particle smoke were the fun features used in this one. This character uses 3 different hair sections: The Bangs, dynamic- the top hair, groomed back, non-dynamic, and the long-flowing dynamic hair in back.
  9. Never considered all that, Nancy... good insight!
  10. Whoa--- that's NEW! There are sometimes 250+ entries!!! I have given-up on trying to make it all the way thru before because it takes so much time and you can only listen to the same clip so many times before you go nuts... plus a LOT of entries are pretty darned bad.
  11. Happy Birthday, Jason!
  12. They are brutal in their critiques... they claim that it's not at all about render-quality, rigging or lip-synch... and then they beat you up on those very things. They are what I call... animation-snobs. I just do it for the practice.
  13. I had some time in-between projects and an idea for the 11 second club's provided soundtrack this month, so I slapped together an entry. I don't expect to do well, it's always fun participating tho. The only thing I needed to model was the room to match my vision... the characters and car are all old models from old projects. Now, back to WORK! It will be available to view with all the other entries in early March. http://www.11secondclub.com/ 11sec.mov
  14. I look forward to getting the time to give this my full attention... THANKS!
  15. We need a longer test... something that circulates. Up and down. Maybe with forces. Looks great though!
  16. Yeah, at 1st I thought it was a muhair shader, then I looked at the settings. COOL!
  17. You mean the clunky-stepping in the gradation of the color... yeah, it looks '8bit'. Does it do the same thing on a render to file?
  18. I like that test... is this a part of Newton?
  19. Consider me amazed!
  20. I wish I could go visit Holmes... he lives in the COOLEST place! Happy Birthday, Holmes! I'll be over around 4 to take you for a beer!
  21. This is a perfect usage for the distortion-mode feature. Just save often
  22. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Fellers!
