Captain Crazy Pants works out
John Bigboote replied to NancyGormezano's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Hi Nancy- Hope you are 'on the mend!' I've found that when working with my TSM2 rigged models that you can ALWAYS go back in afterwrds and rework, reassign, remove, edit etc the textures and weightings. -
And- they ginked me...! After getting the green-light to (quote) rinse and repeat the same animation over and over with 7 unique videos inserted (I even questioned them on the repetition, they're words were "rinse and repeat") now... they are asking for 7 unique animations... different cars, colors etc and they state that 'this is what we asked for." I tell you... the older I get- the harder it is to communicate simple things. And when I asked them to reshoot some of the videos that take less than 2 minutes to produce because of shakey hands, inaudible speech, wind noise, low resolution etc... they act like 'what? we do GOOD WORK, buddy!' I thought I was DONE, now I have 7X the work. Corporate animation SUCKS!

BIG thanks to whoever did the cartoony car and brownstone apartments. This animation was a 'quick build' with elements I had laying around... for a corporate 'ra-rah' video, used as a module to house the headshots, names and TERRIBLE videos of the corporate bigwhigs and supporting their 'MERGE LANES' theme. There will be 7 inset videos in all. MERGE_CUT_TEST.mov

Nice! Great animation... happy to see the new utility, Stefan!
-
Great 'splinesmanship', fab character! I hope you keep progressing on this... can't wait to see her 'claws'.

I loved this image and voted for it (I think...) also LOVE L&H. Just wish you had some smooth bend in the pole, and the water overlapping the boat. GREAT WORK!

Going back to Jakes question... could it be used with A:M? quote: The design and purpose of Cycles always has been to work as an independent and reusable rendering engine. When Cycles was added to Blender two years ago, we decided to release it under GNU GPL first, specifically to ensure it would develop into a well integrated production rendering system for Blender. With that target to be established well, it’s now time to find out how Cycles could work outside of Blender too.

The sound on mine is optional.

When I was an apprentice animator 25 years ago they MADE me buy and read the book... lots of technical information, much is about the 'old' way of animating (camera stand, ink and paint) but most is timeless.

"There can be only one" Really? Why?
John Bigboote replied to Mechadelphia's topic in Animation:Master
If I was Jason I would upload them all to a gallery on the Hash Facebook page, and promote them. It would be cool to do some new 'rendering' loop-animations for V18 as well... -
pharris430 at gmail dot com SENT. Let me know if you get it okay.
-
Paul- give me an email address I can send a Quicktime to...

I think I have one rendered and ready to be sendered... I thought I had, my my bad!
-
I like your '2 nulls' idea...

GREAT ENTRY'S! Awesome to see such participation! It is REALLY hard to just vote for one. Also, the cutoff date says July, I think you mean August... and it would be great to revisit the images after voting. Perhaps one of us (who has not voted yet) could grab them and put them up here in the Forum? ALSO- I invited visitors via my Facebook page... they don't need to be registered forum people to vote, right?

I'd be more than happy to help, Rob. How much content are we talking about? (1 gig, 10 gig?) Sounds like FUN!

I know it's too late and I'm dreaming... but I would LOVE to see the ability to assign distortion mesh's to various/multiple bones...

What's the status of the Anzovin Setup Machine 2?
John Bigboote replied to rusty's topic in TSM2 - Rig
It is not able to work in 64bit because it is a 32 bit app, written almost 12 years ago... why it won't work in 32 bit is the mystery at hand. Do you have all the files where they need to be(HXT folder)? I am trying to remember... been so long since I rigged a TSM2 character... did we discover that TSM2 does not work in 17 and that you should keep a copy of 16 around for this? I install my TSM2ABChxt files in my V17 HXT folder but it does not even appear as an option under 'wizards'... perhaps, Doug- the answer is to install V16 and use the TSM2 wizards there, and then save your rigged character(s) for use in 17, 18 and beyond... -
What's the status of the Anzovin Setup Machine 2?
John Bigboote replied to rusty's topic in TSM2 - Rig
Hey Doug- it froze in V17/32 bit? Not good news... will it be added to V18? I don't think so, TSM2 has been graciously 'offered' to A:M users as a 3rd party rigger... the hope is that it would work when installed to V18/32bit. I need to try it in MY V17/32 bit to see if it's still a 'go'... -
Good things DO happen to good people! Wait till year 6!

Need help big time! Any ideas at all please!

Is your display driver up to date? -
Hate to say it Paul, but I think you are messing with a feature of A:M that does not really work. I was just playing with CD(collision-detection) on a bone chain before I opened the forum and read your thread... it did not go well- AM crashed when I advanced frames. I can never figure out if the bone is supposed to react to another bone, or if the mesh attached to the bone with CD is supposed to react to other mesh's... If you really-really need a cloth effect on that shirt, I would resort back to SimCloth.

You could try adding a null to the sphere model where the hand would be and using a translate to on the hand bone.... you could take this one step further with a 'diameter' bone that is positioned at the very center of the sphere and ends at the surface, add the (edit-null) as a child- at the end- and then use the diameter bone in the chor to animate the position. Use two of these simple setups, one for each hand.

Fun with the cloth wizard... this is the kind of stuff I do in the background while working on very dry corporate crap. Thanks for the Camaro model, Marcos! CAMARRO_small.mov

John Bigboote replied to Jason Simonds's topic in Contests/Challenges
I may just enter a 2nd one... rendering now- we'll see how it looks on Monday... Jason must be tickled with the turnout this time around!
