  1. What I see there is a lot of bones with smartskin relationships that activate an image (with painted wrinkles) set to displacement to raise in value from zero to full... great stuff!
  2. aw crap! I read it as JUNE6th... guess I have time to tweek...
  3. Hate to jump in and 'me too'... Steffen must HATE this stuff. I recently started a big 6 TV spot campaign in V18.0 (E then F) and had to revert back to 17.0G Graphics display problems and crashes... Win7... Nvidea Quadro4000 with up to date drivers... crashes happen under Open GL or OpenGL3.
  4. Yup- those were the days- I had regular 8mm. Did a LOT of messing around with cutout art (I'd had no exposure to the concept of 'cels') I was just figuring things out... one of the cool things I devised (NO outside influence) was that I could take my old exposed 8mm film, put it in our cheap black and white photographic enlarger, and trace the images I saw focused on the exposure board... I later learned this was known as 'rotoscoping' when I read that Ralph Bakshi used the same technique. My stuff was REALLY BAD too- I enjoyed Snoopy tho!
  5. http://aaa-studio.cz/furryballforum/viewto...f=18&t=4010 Any takers? I believe they pay.
  6. In the early days of Mac computing I had to share my computer with another animator, who one day was clearing the desktop and put the jobs drive in the garbage and hit 'empty trash'... then he noticed it was taking a LONG time to empty the trash...
  7. Things jus keep gettin better! Thanks for the research and info Robcat!
  8. Go Gettum, Gene! Prayers with you!
  9. great stuff Marcos!
  10. I tried your lathe test, Rob ...with 18.0C and then installed 18.0D on my PC(64bit) with OpenGL3 and just regular... no crashing here.
  11. I've been toying with getting my mesh's out of A:M(via .obj and .mdd) and into C4D and (as you mention) re-assigning C4D's deep library of shaders/materials one by one... it IS possible and it IS a pain in the butt- especially re-assigning decals that were a snap to apply in A:M into C4D's UV editor. A:M's channel editor is far simpler and FAR superior to C4D's... there are things back and forth that are better in one than the other, but A:M sure holds it's own! I was talking to Mr. Bones (Joe McPeek) today and he is expanding his motion-capture library into the world of animals, wow! He mentioned that if A:M could use FBX files it would open-up WORLDS of possibilities.
  12. Yeah- that was a powerful feature. The guy I worked on a DPS(Paintbox) would generate a color cycle and feed it into his system- put it thru a mask and use it to show blood going thru arteries or brake fluid going thru the lines. I was REALLY hoping they would make a 24 bit version, and when I was at my first Siggraph in the mid 1990's I stopped by the EA booth to see if there were any plans... none of the guys there had even heard of Deluxe Paint...
  13. Cool. I was using 'Deluxe Paint' on an Amiga- my 1st introduction to computer animation. It was a GREAT animation app- but limited to only 8 bit color depth. If they would have ever done a 24 bit color depth it would have caught on BIG. (Electronic Arts)
  14. Awes-sauce! Very generous, are these models rigged? Rodney, can we copy this thread to the Contributors Cue?
  15. Forum needs a 'like' button!
  16. Crap! He's younger than me!?? Happy Birth-freekin-day Bob!
  17. Day by day, Gene... been thinkin about you.
  18. WHAAAAAT??? This 'getting old' stuff is scary, people drop like flies! Just heard a high-school bud died last week while shoveling snow, at FIFTY! I hope we hear good news from Gene soon.
  19. That is quite wonderful, fanciful and colorful!
  20. Yeah- 1st one gone... I LIKE THAT ALOT! Great music too!
