  3. Saw this creature while waiting for my wife to finish shopping and thought I tried to model it. Not done needs eyes and hands/feet and tweaks but this is what I got in a little over an hour. Threw on a simbiot darktree texture to make it interesting

  5. I had another volumetric light idea this was the test With the right colors this could make an intro to an explosive effect. But that my opinion volumetric00.mov
  6. Reminds me of the character in Rudolph only meaner
  7. here's the project I used simbiot darktree materials for the creature and the ground so ignore them if you don't have the free plugin I animated the turbulence on the rim light to get the movement you can slow it done or speed it up in the translate area of the turbulence This is a 11.1g project oh the creature you can throw out its not rigged the movement was quick muscle action I set up dust.prj

  14. Okay in step5 made copy of original material changed colors in both applied to a larger plane one as color the other as displacement animated in Y (plane if flat in Y) and Z notice how color rides the dusplacement Thats about it for now will work up one on Gradient next ... step5a.mov
  15. project 2a 11.1g step2a.prj
  16. okay step2 enchanced New colors and y and z animated applied to cylinder step2a.mov
  17. Okay I change the html to what David suggested it works as it did the other way ..I tested it after posting (really Rodney . Let me know if you still have problems. I'll see if I can get a download version available. Now this is only the beginning you can change colors to make a night sky. You can change colors or not and use the material to do an animated displacement material. You could animate the earlier version... the striped one in the Y direction and get flowing whatever. Also by adjusting any material in the material section (above the attribute section) you can animated any material ..I 'm stating this because not all material have the adjustments in the same place as sine. So I'll post a few more samples and then try to show the fun you can have with other combiners. So if you come up with any other samples why not post them here. another hint for fun say with the sine sample instead of blue make it transparent now you have floating puffs os clouds/smoke ?? question post here Any real experts reading please pipe in
  18. If all else fails watch this http://johnl.inform.net/pages/animatemat.swf.html 1.8meg swf from material to just before render of the results in proj5 more explanation as time allows
  19. When I posted this originally I could not remember where I got the decal but today when looking at photoshop book I rembered you can do it easily there with the stroke command. Made any shape select it and under edit you have a choice on the width on the stroke and where you want if on the edge. After that select the new shape with line (stroke) and you have a good decal
