rough pose idea using gradient material
johnl3d replied to johnl3d's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Mike you are correct its a play on the material effector for Paries planet burn...I will post the project when I fix it you can only do so much in 45 minutes which is why its messed up the original material is on my site johnl.inform.net I think its a version 10 project but might be v9 -
have to redo settings but here is the first half of idea with stand in character [attachmentid=11453] rough1.mov
-
same sequence as group image [attachmentid=11400] ok thats enough w.mov
-
using the same sequence as hair images...although it would be better if feet were closer to edge [attachmentid=11399] attachthoms.mov

Okay I made a project wit two chors the first generates Thom doing two jump cycles as a tga sequence (used alpha buffer) Then for the second chor I import the sequence of tgas and use them as the sprite. I applied to model put in in chor and (not sure if necessary) choose frame at the end of each cycle to match what frame in sequence should be there ( action 1:01 so at 1:01 i chose sprite frame 1:01 at 2:02 chose 2:02)-again might not be necessary. Anyway then rendered the qt here [attachmentid=11396] project file with both chors instead of the sprite sequence [attachmentid=11397] I know its a bit rough but it hopefully will steer you in the right direction thom000.mov thoms.zip

Bill why not change the gravity to be in the right direction ..the sample you shown that would be x and maybe slighly y and simulate. Here is a joke I did flipping the camera 90 degrees and adding the fly action from the cd to shaggy simulated with shaggy standing then moved him to simulate flying ..obviously yours is much better [attachmentid=11105] [attachmentid=11106] shagf.mov shagf.zip

Reflections or a version of "Heck"
johnl3d replied to johnl3d's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
The fire came from here go download Colin's fire tgas, http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11933&hl=fire I then applied them to two layers one flipped the rest is in the project file it should work in 11 or 12 [attachmentid=11101] be careful playing with fire fire.zip -
None have a light that was just me fiddling with the idea The picture below is a composite of some of them the local PBS did a film about them "THE SEVEN SISTERS is a documentary about the design, construction, and installation of the striking, blown glass sculptures by artist Robert Kuster at the .... headquarters" [attachmentid=11100]

Was to be explosioning sprites...material on CD.... put getting late so here's what got rendered [attachmentid=11072] oh here's the project file [attachmentid=11073] popcorn.mov popcorn.zip
-
Actually glass sculptures by artist Robert Kuster
-
Tried another reflective idea this with two layers and a rotating sphere(peaked) with one light it only rotates a little since the render time and size would not allow more [attachmentid=11067] this used the fire tgas posted in another area on two layers and one larger sphere with all points peaked and made reflective reflect1.mov

thanks ..its an idea i got from a glass sculpture we have at the office I work in. I souped up this version by putting it in a sphere with peaked cp's and reflection [attachmentid=11035] I've added project file although i was setting it up for animating so you might have to "adjust it" ..if you get anything interesting out of this please post [attachmentid=11043] burst.zip

Amazing ...Amazing

Fortunately I don't do this very often but decided to try lip sync and animating use the great model donated by Andy Gibbons about two hours of just having fun [attachmentid=10710] I know its small but the sound makes the file too large back to my normal tinkering singing.mov
-
great ..its amazing how you can get interesting results by just thinging backwards..(refering to the blobbies)
-
nicely done but for some reason the move after the roll when it looks as if he is pushing off with his fingers bothers me and right before that roll too but then I'm not much on animating moves like that
-
my artistic render for the month [attachmentid=10471] added 11/02 here's the project but I accidently lost the material (saved over it) while trying some other ideas [attachmentid=10674] agrid.zip

Mini Muppets..great!
-
nicely done

the render was quick but I did 1 pass on multipass I think it was about 2 sec a frame on a 1.7 p4
