  1. Nice work...the only thing that seemed out of place in the early stuff was the red cloth cape coming through the character.. The creatures set is awesome

  5. I have run into a snag using booleans in v13 so tested again in v12. The cutter was a quick illustrator path of text and then imported into AM a little too jaggy but I was only testing The blue behind the hole was from a volumetric light .My favorite use of booleans was this http://johnl.inform.net/pages/boolmorph.htm

  14. this is basically a couple of decals..one for displacement then one for color on a small grid. The other object is a prop from the cd and the sky is a rotoscope from the cd.   18. Right they refract differently one picks up the ground color because it has refraction the other does not without refraction mine was the same color too
  19. I think you are seeing the refraction mixing the the color of the cube with the ground color. I did a quick render giving the model a slight blue color and got this with a higher refraction [attachmentid=16240] Notice the difference when not seen against the ground. Just guessing though and turned up lighting changed ground color [attachmentid=16241]

  21. I animated a simple distortion box on two simple models to see it this works in beta first shows boxes going over model [attachmentid=16200] the second is results [attachmentid=16201] you might want to move the slider to see the effect slowed down animdistortw.mov animdistort.mov
