Barry Zundel's A:M Tutorials now available free on his website!
Fuchur replied to TheToadStool's topic in Animation:Master
Barry's tutorials are some of the most valuable available for A:M. If you did not already buy them before, you should under all circumstances have a look at them now . Thank you very much Adam for asking and making this possible and thank you very much Barry for making them available *Fuchur* -
Hi A:Mler, for everybody in a german speaking country it may be interesting to know that there will be an article by Ralf Gliffe about Hash Animation:Master v18 in the Digital Production 04:2015 (the biggest german magazine about 3d-graphics and post production, http://www.digitalproduction.com). It will be about 5 pages long and will introduce quite nicely into the world of A:M. If you can't grab an issue at the kiosk, you can get it directly on their website. See you *Fuchur*

Hi . Welcome back . There are a few new tools and features but A:M itself looks the same and should be easy to get into again... For Mac users, Maverick made it worth as far as I know... but the textures not showing up on Shaded Views is not a Mac thing but an option... press "CTRL + D" (or maybe Mac + D on a Mac?). Cant look at the moment but you can switch it with the draw toolbar too and it is by default not on. In general, if you are fine with it, I would recommend using Bootcamp. The Windows version is a little more stable. SSE4 is a command set which needs to be understood by your CPU to work. If it does it makes certain operations faster. If your cpu can do it, use it. 64bit and n-Core support are two different things. 64bit can use more than 2 GB of RAM (or with a certain Hack 3 GB) while n-Core will use more CPU cores at the same time. There is an option (at least for Windows... i assume it is there for Mac too) called OpenMP in the options which can accelerate A:M on multicore systems. (make sure to set the threads to n - 1 cores to be able to work with your computer even if A:M is using all the other cores... it will only do that on very certain operations, but I think it is the better option. See *Fuchur*

Did you write a bug report about it? The alternative is to open A:M several times on the computer and use for instance the step-property. (means: render every n-frame of the file) or you just divide your rendering into several ranges and render those each... it is less comfortable, but it will work. See you *Fuchur*

My guess is a gradient-material animated very cleverly . See you *Fuchur*

I am not sure but it looks like the restriction-keys work on each object seperatly but if you use a group and rotate it, it restricts the object's axis again, not the one of the group (this means if the group has a different axis-system you will end up with interesting behaviour... could that be it? Hi Jody, does it change something if you use "Global Axis"? (button next to the rotate button in the upper toolbar) (this would be normal behaviour, since you are not using Global Axis but the local once of the objects if you are not using that button.) If not are you on SSE 3 or SSE 4.1 or SSE AVX? See you *Fuchur*

Just tested... yes I have the shift-nudge-problem too... (do a bug report for that) I do however not have it if I draw a selection-box around the objects in my chor... than I can use shift to move it around too... The interesting part is, that when using the selection-box feature you can for instance move and rotate objects as if they would be all in one model, since it generatres a group in the chor which is even saveable. If you shift-select, the rotation will be done on the local axis of the objects and it will cause them to no use a delta but overwrite the objects rotation value with the new you enter. Both are features, not bugs if you ask me... See you *Fuchur* See you *Fuchur*

free hosting User Subdomains for Animation Master Tutorials
Fuchur replied to Jason Simonds's topic in Animation:Master
wordpress... that one has more security holes than anything else out there... every few days new exploits are mentioned on the news websites... be sure to secure it as good as possible... especially if you let them use custom plugins and themes... the problem is, that too many people use it and as that it is very valueable to break into it since you can use the exploit on many websites at the same time without much more work than hacking one website... -
He is using it in a chor window. Select more than one object and move it. Do the same but this time use the rectangle selection tool. It may work or it may not... I had both behaviours...

That looks very promising ... nice animation going up the stairs... there is a little "fibration"-like step in it, but very well done nontheless . There are small things like the closing door. It may be just a little too much of a bounce back to open before closed fully... I would eighter let it jump open again a little less far or I would move it very slowly after the reopening... ease-out the animation in that case, just to give it a feel of a slowly closing door which is closing because of a slight uneveness of the floor or something like that. how did you print him? standing is close to impossible but laying him flat works ok especially with supports. i printed one in blue a while back . see u *Fuchur*

Is that a final render or shaded? Is your shadow set to 80% darkness? It may work if you put in 100%. (just some wild guesses here ) See you *Fuchur*

Trouble with fire tutorial (After Effects transparency)

After Effects can do both... It is ask when importing an image sequence to it. See you *Fuchur* -
Could you give a hint what did not work 3 times in a row this time? just a few words to set others on track of the bug you experienced... doesnt have to be a whole bug report... it may be necessary to reset A:M or even delete the master.mac file. (this holds window settings and stuff like that) I am on windows but maybe someone else can have a look at this just to see what is going on there and help solve this? see you *fuchur*

I've a AMD Beema Apu (and an Kaveri APU laptop but that is a different league) and it works very well... APUs have much better graphic power than Atoms (or any intel icpu) without dedicated GPU which helps alot with the fluidness of A:M so it is absolutely possible to run A:M on a small system...

I am not really a fan of any Avid product... for high profile studiowork it is a good product pipline but for home or small studio there are just more flexible tools to choose from like sony vegas, after effects, samplitude and stuff like that... see you *fuchur*

I'd say that should be okay for almost anything I can imagine . Only for 64bit version right? That should use a lot of Ram . See you *Fuchur*

exactly.

It should be possible to use 512 and replace the file created with a larger one manually (just overwrite the existing file), if you need a higher resolution... this is just now the only way I know to increase that... See you *Fuchur*

Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 are not very heavy on the hardware... it might be possible... (at least a Windows Phone can run Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 without being much bigger... (get rid of the display, and you could built something in these dimensions quite easily.... See you *Fuchur*

you could try to delete the mac file in you A:M installation folder. although have a look which version you use by looking in the info. (is it sse avx, sse3 or sse 4.1? see u *Fuchur*
