Confirmation for displacement map bug crash
Fuchur replied to R Reynolds's topic in Animation:Master
...since a few versions... but I think v15 should already have subpixel-displacement. What will make a noticeable difference is the resolution of the displacement-map and using for instance a EXR-texture (32bit per channel) instead of a TGA (8bit per channel). Best regards *Fuchur* -
I can understand that... you may want to have a look at Shade3d for isntance than. Best regards *Fuchur*

I am doing 3d prints for years with A:M. You have to use patchmodelling with A:M and A:M is not a CAD software, but to say it does not offer everything you need is just plain wrong. I have 2 makerbot fdm printers at home and there is no problem with using them wirh A:M. The minute you need higher resolution and higher precission than what A: M can offer u is the minute you need professional 3d printers for 25,000 dollars and up, which I assume nobody is willing to pay anyway here. If u do not get what I am talking about, please read about shrinking and equal challenges with 3d printing. Best regards *Fuchur*

50-100 micron for layers(50 is very uncommon just because you need to adjust ur printer very, very precise), but not for smallest features. There you can have smaller once on the better fdms. It is not for very small bolts, but if we are talking about m8 or m6 it is very well possible to do (there even is a bolt and nut as predefined object on my makerbot which works nicely, but is not tiny neighter) and may even work better than sla, since the materials are better suited than most liquid resins. (it depends, but in general those are a little more flexibel which is not helpful for that scenario.) Example Best regards *Fuchur* PS: But yes, you can easily just use real metall screws and drill them in. Much more durable than standard plastics anyway.

Very cool . Best regards *Fuchur*

Would be cool, but not to my knowledge... there is the connect plugin, but it does something a little bit different. Best regards *Fuchur*

Are there two planes meeting there / two full splines with connections running at the edge? If so, you need to delete one of them, and use the loose spline ends to connect the two ends. (click the left mouse button and drag the loose end cp to the other one and click with the right one (additional to the left one) if you are close enough. Best regards *Fuchur*

Boolens in A:M are no suitable for export. They are only calculated when rendering. That makes them very useful for animations (because they can easily be animated like that) but not suitable for the export. You'll need to go the "manual" modelling way. Wether A:M is suitable for mechanical modelling or not is really up to your skills. It is very well doable, but there are better tools for that depending on your point of view... it highly depends what you are used to and what modelling method you prefer. A:M has one or even the best patch modelling toolsets but is very limited if you like to use boxmodelling tools. I'd recommend to just try it out. Best regards *Fuchur*

You may want to watch it again . PVA is water desolveable and like that pretty good for supports, but it is not the answer to everything and it is always better to work without supports . Best regards *Fuchur*

Are you going to use them for 3d printing? I have done a lot of that with A:M models and it works great. You may have to run it through NetFab (freeware) sometimes, but that is not a biggy at all. You may want to have a look at this: https://www.patchwork3d.de/am-2-makerware-3d-printing-83-en Best regards *Fuchur* See you *Fuchur*

A:M Bench 2017 – Benchmark for Hash Animation:Master
Fuchur replied to Fuchur's topic in Animation:Master
Hey, thanks for participating. Wow, that system must have cost a small fortune... even today in 2017 that processor is really expensive (a new one would cost about 500-600 Euros over here) and a dual GPU/SLI setup is expensive by itself. But maybe well deserved. Those are nice results especially in the single core performance. Best regards *Fuchur*- 42 replies

No biggy . Other keyboard layouts . In German there are more letters available like ö / ä / ü / ß which need to have a place on the same keyboard size and are much more common too. Because of that, / is not at the same place. (and some other things are not there neighter) And for some odd reason Y and Z are switched. I'd guess that that is because in German, Y is a very uncommon character (there are only a hand full of non-english-words in German which use Y), while Z is much more common. Best regards *Fuchur* PS: Here you can see the Standard German Keyboard Layout.

Hi Elm, you can easily set that yourself if it is not available for any reason (do not know why). Go to "Tools > Customize" and set the setting "Edit: Group Connected" to any key you want. I always set that to # or - for me. Best regards *Fuchur*

Great . Very nice utilisation of retopology. Best regards *Fuchur*

Try setting the ambient occlusion > Occlusion Sampling a little bit lower / higher and see what it does change. Best regards *Fuchur*

A:M Bench 2017 – Benchmark for Hash Animation:Master
Fuchur replied to Fuchur's topic in Animation:Master
Using a smiley face there is just to keep the mood a little bit up because I can't change it but I am certain there is a solution on the way. This is called "Galgenhumor" (gallows humor) in Germany. Very sorry if you did not get that... may be a cultural thing... Just to make sure we are on the right track here: I'm not hired in any way and I am voluntarily doing beta testing of the software so that other people get more bug proove software. And having a beta program or even a software build which is not going public is quite a standard behaviour concerning any kind of software (happens all the time for instance at Microsoft with their Insider Beta Program). When I do something with a newer version, it is a sneak peak for the future for others. If you do not want that to happen, let me know and I will stop contributing to the community with such things (which at least are hopefully of use a little bit later for everybody) I am willing to help where I can (on the forums, with video tutorials and more because I like the software and the people here). I'm not in any way employed or anyhow attached with Hash financially. So talking with me about that kind of stuff on this forum is really of no use, because I can not change anything about it and I only have good intentions when contributing here. I find it a little sad, that this positive thread is going down such a bad road. I wanted it to be a good thread helping everybody to see if a new computer would benefit him/her with A:M. Sorry that you see it differently. If you do not want me to contribute to the community anymore with this benchmark or anything else – just tell me again and I'll get this thread deleted by the moderator or admins as soon as possible.
