  1. Nice job! yea, the new color definately looks better. I actually liked the camera angle you had in the first shot. I thought it was fine, and it brought more attention to the hash logo on its shell. Just my opinion though- robert
  2. nice! looks like my friends old sega controller
  3. Have you put transparency on a bit? Like at 20-ish percent? That might work. Hope that helps!
  4. Holy cow. You've come a long way. That's great progress! You're a quick learner. Keep up the pace!
  5. That was great! awesome comic. That is the coolest owl ever. Good job!
  6. One thing you could do if your going for the 3d/2d look, is instead of using fur, you could apply a decal on the bird to imply feathers and texture. For example, like drawing a brick wall, you only have to draw some bricks to imply that the whole thing is made up of them. Here, this would be the same concept, only with feathers and a bird. And then render it, but with the lines on to get the cartoony look. Hope that helps!
  7. The Plumber of the Mushroom Kingdom! Awesome! Can't wait to see him fire fireballs and start fighting bowser! rock on! keep up the good work.
  8. I like the second one more. But what would it look like if you pushed the engines back a bit. So the front covering of the engine would look more like a part of the wing. They're both excellent models though, but I think the second one is a bit more proportionate.
  9. If you put a fill-light below the floor angled at him it might work. Just a guess though.
  10. woah. That's really cool! How did you do that? its not using arctic pigs is it?
  11. Wow! That's some nice ship! beautiful color. simple but nice. insanely cool. Are you going to animate it?
  12. That's a cool affect! Do you think that it could be used to make running water?
  13. That's pretty good! And you are definately showing improvement! the only minor problem is the transition between your running action, and your jump action. It's difficult to notice first time around, but if you watch it in slow-mo it's easier to tell where it happens. Anyways, great animation! Keep up the good work!
  14. nice! It's easier to see now that its lighter. I like the way it's looking. Do you plan on making a full train or just the cabin? rodney- that's a really cool idea with the virtual train-yard type thing.
  15. You did that...by just...moving points RANDOMLY!? amazing. Looks nice. Are you going to make a body?
  16. Here's some website on steam engines: http://rna.chem.rochester.edu/david/steam.html http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/lexcie/oli-steam.htm They've got pictures on how the wheels look and work. hope they help!
  17. Whew! That took a lot of effort. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. I had started with a whole other body, but decided on this style instead. Now I need to texture on it. Would anyone know some good tutorials for texturing. That would rock. Thanks!
  18. Great character! wasn't there a post about a short you were working on with this guy?
  19. Very well done. can't wait to see it with textures and movement!
  20. Wow. very well done. his expressions are timed perfectly with the sound clip. And the use of his eyes to express thought before saying he's dead right or crazy is brilliantly done. Great job. But there's a part that stands out to me that looks a little off. When he begins the line, either I'm dead right or I'm crazy, his chin does something wierd. Like there are two stripes on it or something. Possibly caused by the mesh or the lighting perhaps? all in all though very well done!
  21. Thanks jamagica! but i've already got a model I'd like to use for that contest. Speaking of which. Does anyone know how to send a picture for that in? No, I've never actually tried the porcelain material but it looks as if it does help so i'll give it a shot when I'm all done with the model. Thanks! I modelled half of the head but instead of using the copy/flip/attach method I just connected the splines manually. Here's another update, I've added teeth, a tongue, the inside of the mouth, and a a horn. I will be adding two more horns in the back and then that'll be about it for the head (i think). Then on to the body!
  22. Thanks KenH. That smoothed it out quite well. Here's an update. Comments and critiques more than welcome.
  23. I started making a dragon and so far Its coming out relatively well i think. But, I'm having troble getting the chin to look smooth. Would someone know how i could re-attach some of the splines on the chin to make it look better? Thanks!
  24. Wow. (jaw drops). I'm still in shock. That was great! Awesome! Superb! everything flowed smoothly together and everything. Wow. So how long did that take you? It's obviuos that you put tons of effort into it. Also, the A:M film page said it was award winning. What award did you win? and (last but not least) what did you do to get those statues to melt? (the ones that are after he gets off the train). I'm going to be doing a project with a character that melts, so it would be great to figure out how to do that. All in all, great work!
  25. I like him. He's cool, and you can almost see a personality by looking at him, her, it? The eye itself just looks incredible. How did you get that effect? Looking forward to the hop cycle, and other animations with it too.
