  1. Well, Heath, James, Ken & Steve are all at shows this week, so I'll speak for them by saying that is an excellent piece, Angelo.
  2. That's quite stunning. You've looked at before and after: how do you think HDRI adds to the realism?
  3. Progress report good. "Dead Smiling Pirates" good. All systems go.
  4. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a "steam hammer," and now I want one. Hey, wait, I do have one! This steam hammer is in Ku-Klip's Workshop. That Ku-Klip certainly is well equiped, (in a steam hammer kind of way). It looks great, Rodger.
  5. For shorts, no. Shorts make you famous though, and maybe create a market for your talents, (and your viewers feel good). I'm not sure there's a market for movies either (you said it, the competition is "insanely good") but we're going to give it a try with "Tin Woodman of Oz" (TWO). I was actually involved in making and selling a movie before (which included 20 minutes of 3D), so I speak from experience. There is a tiny, independent, non-theatrical world market if you sell cheap enough. Getting to it is difficult, and you don't get your time and effort back in money BUT it does get distributed. How many people can say that? I'd have to say that 3D is a labor of love - but there IS a slight chance of success for those who continue to push onward - like the people in this community. You're welcome to do a shot or two for TWO if you want, just to see what it's like working on a "real" production.
  6. Here's some more "first impression" stuff. Lot's of good animation. Way, way a lot of good animation. Great eyes... But the models were weak. They needed to be more visually appealing if they're going to be on screen that long. But it's your first bit! I'm not criticizing anything - it's a GREAT first piece. Put up a 2 second test shot first next time, to get some audience feedback on the models and set.
  7. I thought it was funny and cute. The voices are good, as is the whole soundtrack. The eyes are especially effective at bringing the characters to life. They follow the action quite well. Get started on your second short right away.
  8. You guys make me feel so warm and fuzzy... I eagerly await seeing the work you've done, John!
  9. Hey! I thought that was pretty cool. (I watched it more than once... Just to replay the sense of wonder I felt.)
  10. You got some great poses on the robot. It's very good. The modeling on the boy is decent, and I can find nothing to comment on... It depends on what you're going to use it for... Ancillary character?
  11. That's clever and good enough that it might find some legs on A:M Films. If you can get it to HA:MR, I bet it would be a favorite as that product grows in popularity.
  12. I'd be a bit scared of that! What I've seen of TWO looks amazing... and a fair bit out of my league as far as animating goes... Uh...? Have you been reading my blog? We're just friendly anitomatos over there in TWO land. You have a future in the movies, my boy.
  13. That's pretty cool, Andy. You need to help up animate on TWO.
  14. Dhar was the featured guest on the premiere day of his first animation on A:M Community tonight. He has gained the right to call himself an "animator." Congratulations, Dhar. From the... Grand "anitomato" PoohBah
  15. Oh, you don't have to put rigs in. Just the model would be enough to help people out, and somebody may put a rig in it later if need be. There's a lot of good stuff here. A 2000 X 1600 render would be enough for each poster. You're on. I'll send you an email.
  16. Lee. What is anybody gonna say but, "Wow." Didn't you animate a little of some of these several years ago? I'd love to see it if you did. Would you donate the models to the "Extras" DVD? What kind of rigs do they have in them (A:M 2001?) How about a few poster size images before the comicon season starts? What are you doing with the "Russian" Batman? (I must have missed it if you explained?) Do you want to work on TWO?
  17. Blink. Blink again. Make the side to side motion jerk more. (It's very rhythmic now). (These suggestions brought to you from your friendly anitomato).
  18. Lee, Yves told me that he thought "stud" meant "gay," (Yves is from Quebec), and he warned me to call you something else. So "Lee, you are such a not gay stud." Note that you're assuming that Lee isn't gay, when you say that. Lee, you are such a not gay unless you're gay stud.
  19. Lee, Yves told me that he thought "stud" meant "gay," (Yves is from Quebec), and he warned me to call you something else. So "Lee, you are such a not gay stud."
  20. Right there... That's beginning to have the "Alex Roth" aura. (Of course, it's the PJC aura... But in the same general quality range.)
  21. That city looks pretty good. (Like all your stuff does.)
