  1. An awesome plugin for AM would be LSCM (least squares conformal mapping) for UV mapping. Been asking for this for ages.
  2. So who was moving faster, the shuttle tank or the cars around it?
  3. Cool, changes seem a little subtle but it looks like it works.
  4. Trouble with companies like Adobe and Autodesk is they do try to take out the competition and people complain yet no one actively boycotts their products...
  5. Wow some of those wizards are pretty nice Malo. Most of my models now are mechanical and not so much free form. I see good use of those for much of what I work on now.
  6. Wonder if the player part would become open source? What is Hash going to use now? Maybe mpg?
  7. The plug is pulled because it is no longer supported. What doesn't make sense is why can't it be kept as a offline player format? I am guessing the vulnerabilities are the same as found in most movie players that access content through the web. They should pull the plug on Flash. Adobe uses your systems information and embeds it in the Flash player which then gets passed on to websites. They absolve themselves in the eula!! Ever notice If you are on a store site and happen by a product or clicked on a product then see deals of that product on other sites? Even get email on similar items even though you never signed up? I have 0 yes ZERO spam now since I removed flash and shockwave from my system.
  8. I would be more afraid of Flash and Shockwave than Quicktime. Adobe took what was once a secure player and punched more security holes in it allowing data mining and trackers while absolving liability via the eula. Want to eliminate 99% of your spam and popups of ads that show up as you browse pages in Amazon or where ever? Remove flash from your system... Will AM support wmv? I have some small video editing coming up for a presentation. Not sure what I need to render out as now.
  9. Thanks, new machine is peppy and after all the hype Fuchur had over AMD I tossed an 8 core 8350 fx 4gz together on a little Gigabyte board. Pretty impressed with the machine. I had just built it for gaming replacing an old i7 but guess its my work machine now. Bang for the buck I would recommend it any time. Thanks!
  10. My old workstation finally died on me and I am no a new system. How do I go about getting AM to run on the new system? Thanks
  11. Make a backup of your previous version, they give you 30 days to chicken out. 10 is nice on tablets and laptops but I hate it on a desktop, really really hated it on my desktop.
  12. Lon long time ago I used to render out #'d frames and post process them in DeBabalizer. Couldn't you do the same with photoslop's batch and the focus effect? It should be pretty quick to do.
  13. Ahh good, not a hardware thing. just rma'd a brand new nvidia card and noticed it on the replacement. No worries, still can manipulate them just fine.
  14. The bias handles are only showing the ends on my machine. Just replaced my video card with an Nvidia GTX 950. Anyone else have this?
  15. Check the specs and if your netbook can handle it then 10 is a worthy try. You can roll back to the previous OS within 30 days. My laptop is only a dual core celeron and I tossed in 8gb of memory. It runs much peppier than the win 7 home the laptop came with. On a desktop machine I'm definitely not happy with any of the 8's.
  16. My work machine is 7 ultimate 64 bit, rock solid and almost never crashes on anything. Have a game machine that was win 8 (crap), upgraded that to 8.1 (less crap) and now win 10 so it is a little more usable and don't suffer the usb devices being turned off via power management no matter what settings applied. My laptop that I use on my engraver had win 7 home and updgraded that to win 10 and it is a really nice machine. Even do quite a bid of 3d modeling on it with MOI and Amapi Pro Collectors and both run nice on it. I think in general Win 10 is better suited on mobile devices rather than desktops. Stability still seems to be better on Win 7 from my experience even with the hell my install went through when removing Adobe CC.
  17. Wasn't there a bevel plug in also? Thought I used something similar in the old disc version 32 bit. and if I remember correctly it would crash if you attempted to make any physical movements or thought after clicking the left mouse button.
  18. What does it do? I installed the hxt but don't see it in the modeling options for wizards.
  19. Cool. Next release can you add unit measures to exported stl files? Right now they have no units at all.
  20. We can say Merry Xmas now? Guess that stupid war is over. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
  21. Aren't the answers in the back of the book upside down like most puzzle books have? All he as to do is study the answers so he can pass the tests. Schools don't really teach any critical thinking but rather teach how to copy/paste and take tests.
  22. Yup that's what I ended up doing, tossed some pigtails in and connected the right ones to each other. Shapes where pretty simple but a real pain in the butt in a cad program and I had a miserable time in 3d Coat. Basically I will print this out, make a mold from the reusable mold material (microwavable). Then I'll fill it with DuraPutty (wood based wood putty that is similar to the original pieces). This should get me in the ballpark where I can fill in the gaps to match up to the rest then I'll toss on some metallic powders to get the color I need.
  23. Ahh so it's different now. Not a huge deal I can change the point type on those splines and continue them around. Used to be a bit quicker with shift click Thanks
  24. Been a while since I started modeling in AM again and when I shift click to create a surface the splines don't create a patch. Tricky part is the piece I am modeling will be 3d printed and internal faces gives my printers software fits. This particular part is for piece of scroll work that was on an antique mirror. My plans are to model the missing piece, print it out, make a mold then make the replacement patch. I thought in the past I was able to do this but its been a while.
