Hey there all,

I just started using A:M back in June at the college I go to and I've love it. This was the first model (first anything really) I attempted in 3D. It's not 100% accurate to the real thing but close enough for my liking and first model attempt. As the topic name states its the Liger Zero from the anime Zoids.

(sorry im an anime freak)

That is most impressive. Is he rigged?

Fully, as far as I know how. There's a total of 48 bones, 6 poses, and 1 run cycle thus far.

Now make it move! :P

See Spot Run.

I was considering it, maybe some day. If I could get the armors for my toy model of the Liger I would, seeing as I modeled it in A:M from that it would help me keep the proportions better at least.

Ok, let me get this straight - you just started using AM about a month and a half ago, did a really nice model on your first attempt, rigged it perfectly to do a run cycle on your first attempt, and even got some nice motion blur going at the same time without ever having done anything else in 3D?

If I am understanding this correctly...well, if this is true, then I'm at a loss for words, truely. My only question is: How is this possible?

That's pretty much it. I had a little help learning the interface of A:M, how to add bones, and how to go about making poses/actions from one of my teachers, but yeah, I haven't really made anything in 3D except for a regular playing card in Blender with the assistence of a class mate. The run cycle of it though was done using rotocopes of a cat running.

The motion blur part was just an option when rendering. It took a little bit of experimenting with the multi-pass and motion blur to get it just right.

But trust me; this certainly didn't through with out its troubles. I think this just goes to show how easy A:M is to learn.

So you are taking a class at a college (which college?) that uses Animation Master in it's curriculum? What's the class called and what other programs if any are used in the class. Were you required to purchase AM for this class or was it provided by the instructor?

Forgive me for my skepticism, but we've recently had some hoaxters post here that claimed to have made works in AM when it was just plagiarism.

If everything is on the up and up, my hat's off to your instructor and yourself. Nicely done.

Yeah, I've read through a few of those plagiarism posts... I think that's just sad when someone has to steal someone else's works.

Anyway, I go to Lethbridge Community College (soon to be re-named Lethbridge College), Alberta, Canada. The program I'm taking is called Multimedia Production, which they are actually changing the curriculum starting in September for the new batch of students (it should be up on the site by now). The current curriculum format that I'm taking is supposed to train us to be multimedia specialists. I haven't ever been shown exactly what was intended to be taught to us about A:M, but we use it in our animation class along with mostly Flash and Adobe After Effects. We weren't required to buy A:M (or any software for that matter) since the labs we work in have fully furnished computers with all the Adobe/Macromedia software along with other things like A:M. However I am going to purchase A:M when I can actually afford it. If you just wanna know more about me and see some of my other random work (nothing else 3D related yet) I have an online portfolio.

And thank-you everyone for the responses! :)

Deb: What's a liger? Napoleon Dynamite: It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.

My daughter's softball team was the Ligers...

Back on topic, nice work, and the animation ain't too shabby either.

DIG!

I like the motion blur!

But- for some reason, when I hear the term 'liger' I think of Napolean Dynamite...
