Looks good Mark!!! Why does it appear blurry though? George

Kelley, It's a cool site and your modeling and animating are excellent!!! George

When you do mechanical modeling like this, do you peak all the lines and tweak the bias handles? If so.... Is there a way to set peak on all the time for mechanical modeling? George

In case you didn't know about faces. You can fill in the blank patches by flipping the face. if you select the cps around the face (that needs to be flipped) then hit the "f" key, it will flip the face and it won't be transparent. If you already know this then good. The face is looking good. George.

Lloyd, They look good! It makes me want to revisit my sponge Bob model and update him. He's my first character model I've made and I wasn't think along the lines of rigging and animating when laying out the splines. Are you going to rig them? George

Just my opinion but he looks a lot better WITHOUT the feathers. The added beef up looks perfect. Great work!

You mean Robert George

When you say you just bought this I'm assuming Animation Master? If so, then congrats! You made a very good investment. Once you learn how to use it, it's an incredible program! Again I'm assuming here but it sounds like you've created a project and want to render it out to mov or avi format? Again if so, just follow these steps. Be sure to check out TaoA:M site. George

John, That is an awesome effect. It looks like a neon light sculpture. Really cool!!! George -
Wow! That car looks awesome! Excellent work!! George

I know this is your project Charlie but I couldn't help myself. After making the cannon with the path, I had to see what it would look like with the cannon fire using squash and stretch with the cannon sound. Here's what I came up with. I used only one action for the wheel turning. All the rest of the animation for the cannon is a choreography action. The cannon ball is on a path that's constrained to the cannon. The cannon ball is on the path to start but to have it hit the camera, I used offsets from the path. cannon3.mov Here's the project if you're interested Cannon3.zip George

Buffalo kickin up dust test renders
Jeetman replied to Kamikaze's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
The bison looks great!! The dust looks good. Nice effect. The trot looks a little choppy. If that's a cycle, you might want to consider tweaking the cycle on the end a little to smoothen the loop. Very good work!! George -
IF by video you mean videos of you squetching Sulivan....DEFINITELY video. It's much clearer to understand (and learn from ). George

That is an awesome character. I hope you post some animations after you rig it of course. Great job!!! George

WOW Eric! That looks excellent. Can't wait to see it textured. Great job!!! I envy you, Al, Ian and anyone with exceptional modeling skills. George

As Fuchur said, if you select one cp then use the "T" to turn he vew, it rotates around the selected cp(s). A:M isn't being discontinued as far as I know. They've changed the software upgrade policy. Check this site out for all the details. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31389 Basically they switched over to a yearly subscription to use the software. It's $40.00 cheaper ($49.99) but you basically rent the software anually. You can still get the traditional update but now it will cost $299.00.

All you need to do is set the ease to the same percentage for the duration of the pause then set the ease to send the cannon on the path. I think this is kind of what you are trying to do? cannon.mov After setting up the euler drive for the wheels and determined the number of revolutions the wheels will make on the path, then it's just a matter of adjusting the ease for the cannon on the path. If you want it to stand still, you set the ease the same value on the path for the amount of time you want the cannon to pause. EXAMPLE: At 3:00 cannon is at 20% on the path. You want it to pause 2 seconds. Set the ease to 20% at 5:00 on the animation. This will make the cannon not move for 2 seconds. Then just set the ease for the path constraint to 50% in say 5:15. This would make the cannon kick back to the 50% position on the path in 1/2 a second. You can also adjust the key frame bias so it eases in or out. Here's the project files. cannon.zip EDIT: I forgot to put the choreography file in the zip. It's included in this file cannon2.zip Sorry about that George

I'd say chrome but remember, to see chrome, you need light and objects so if you test it in model mode, it will not look right. Only when there are objects and good lighting will it have the look you want. Good luck on your project. George

Hey Tot, The characters look great and you did a great job with the walk cycle!! keep up the good work!! George

Doing a quick vase animation is very easy. Create a quick model of a vase by using the lathe tool. In a new model window, you create an outline of a vase. select just the end cp and hit the lathe tool. Then save the model by right clicking in the model window and saving. start a new action and choose the vase as the model to use for the action. Click on muscle mode. Make sure the timeline is active. drag the timeline a few frames ahead and select a few cp's of the vase and give them a tug (if you turn the magnet tool on it pulls much cleaner). move the timeline bar a little more and move the same cp's you have selected or grab some others. That's it. play it back and you'll have a dancing vase in no time. vase.mov It's not great but it's a quick animation of a vase. If you put a little more time into it, you could get a pretty decent dancing vase. George

WOW Fresh! That's really good!!! I like the rubber effect in the arms. You create the illusion perfectly! George
