  1. Welcome back Myron!
  2. Is there a wizard or plug in that allows you to select a model and auto the process of front facing the patch. For what ever reason when I copied/flip/attach the new side patches are reversed Steve
  3. As we move forward in the project Chris and I have made a change to one of the lead characters look. Here is what I have so far. I tried to use re topology tool for getting a head in quickly but in version 18g the project would crash. I went back to modeling the character myself. Still to finish is the back of the head and then touch up Steve
  4. Awesome.
  5. Saw it and loved it. Went in really not knowing what to expect but left feeling really good. Loved all the eye candy. The shots of the city streets. Wow!
  6. It has begun! The render farm is back up and ready to work. Here is a shot of 1/2 of the farm. The other 6 machines are in another location. I still have 72 cores available but need to update a few machines. We are rendering some blocking and story board info. Steve
  7. David The test is done with AO and the lighting setup you posted? Steve
  8. David I am very interested in these tests as well. One issue I had with SSS was getting another surface with SSS settings too close to the first. It would make "hot spot". For example, a character places a hand on another character's hand. When the two hands would touch a very bright spot would show. Have you encountered this issue, or was it a setting I had that was incorrect?
  9. Very cool and helpful. It is v er y neat to see just the animation without all the bells and whistles.
  10. At first I wasnt excited about this movie. But as more trailers and post like yours I am ready to see it! Thanks for sharing
  11. Thanks David. I am trying some new lighting and will post soon
  12. Interesting study. what are the render times with AO? What was the render time with the sphere? We are using a sphere as well and some of the frame renders are very large in time. Steve
  13. Thanks David. I will break this down. I will be honest. I did not know you could add lighting to ao. Thank you for posting this, as I was wondering how you were able to achieve the results! I think the results are wonderful
  14. David I would be interested in the light settings. Very nice
  15. that is right David, the top is AO. Still trying to get the look of it with SSAO
  16. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showforum=184 here you go Jeff forgot to put the link in Steve
  17. That is nice Jeff. There is a section for donation.
  18. I got the hair pretty much like I want it. I wish AO did not take so long to render as I loved the look it creates. I have also been playing with SSAO. So much faster but still not achieving the feel of AO.
  19. After several days, well 3 weeks, of frustration Laurie's hair is in place. I groomed the hair in a relationship. I now have a pose slider for her hair so I can re-groom the hair to a different style. Steve
  20. Jeff You mentioned in Roger's thread about your settings. You have AO turned on with a blue settings. What values do you have under AO? Also you mentioned you have SSS on all groups turned on, if you were to have a group intersect with another what is the effect created? Steve
  21. David Thank you for showing this. I will have to watch it about 1000 times to get it. This was what Robert was talking about. Rodney Thank you Rodney! I hope that this fall we will be to show some things for all the hard work. Each one of the characters has alot more weighting and rigging to go! Smart skins are good by the way! Steve
  22. Got mine as well!
  23. I was trying to link a null to a pose slider. Robert came up with a fix but wanted to know if you had another idea.
  24. Thanks David. If you have some time, I have some questions on rigging, weighting and nulls.
