  1. Thanks Robert Found this out too. But it is a quick way of fixing a problem. Here is an update. Working on the shirt today before our family get together.
  2. Here is where I am at on the remake of Stone. He will replace the more cartoon character. I will use a new tool from Mack Chappelle, (be looking for the link). I finally happy with the head and face. Thanks to Chris Dailey and his constructive criticism. He noticed the shape of the head was not looking right. Finally, he gave some photos to me for my review. That is what I like about collaboration. We are able to work together to make the finished product better. Steve
  3. Will, sorry we missed you. We had a great time yesterday. Mack Chappelle joined us with some tools. If you have time Sunday we will be there again. Join us and maybe we can up with something!
  4. Sorry Will just saw your message. We meet sunday at 3 pm central time. Srshelton62@gmail.com
  5. That was all Chris! I built the sets and Chris came up with the plan. Anyway, your project is perfect for an Open Studio paradigm. You have in place, the bible, current story, and a creative direction, not to forget all the assests. Jumping on board would be a educational experience to say the least. Chris and I meet every week on google plus and use svn to wharehouse our project. I feel it has been a wonderful experience. Just this past week we made a decision to help move the project forward. You are welcome to join us on one of our meetings.
  6. I think Chris and I can help in the process of collaboration. Chris has done a wonderful job in keeping focus and on track in our project. We would love to share some insights.
  7. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45825&do=findComment&comment=392774 I believe this will help
  8. Your video card does not support open gl3. You can change the real time renderer to open gl in the registry. Search the forum for furchur's instruction on how to set your realtime render to open gl. Be careful but I reset a number of my tender machines to open gl
  9. He was so nice to me in the linited conversations I had interviewing for directors assistant. RIP.
  10. Thanks Gerald. I was selecting the mesh and then look for the wizard. Thank you.
  11. Is there a wizard or plug in that allows you to select a model and auto the process of front facing the patch. For what ever reason when I copied/flip/attach the new side patches are reversed Steve
  12. As we move forward in the project Chris and I have made a change to one of the lead characters look. Here is what I have so far. I tried to use re topology tool for getting a head in quickly but in version 18g the project would crash. I went back to modeling the character myself. Still to finish is the back of the head and then touch up Steve
  13. Saw it and loved it. Went in really not knowing what to expect but left feeling really good. Loved all the eye candy. The shots of the city streets. Wow!
  14. It has begun! The render farm is back up and ready to work. Here is a shot of 1/2 of the farm. The other 6 machines are in another location. I still have 72 cores available but need to update a few machines. We are rendering some blocking and story board info. Steve
  15. David The test is done with AO and the lighting setup you posted? Steve
  16. David I am very interested in these tests as well. One issue I had with SSS was getting another surface with SSS settings too close to the first. It would make "hot spot". For example, a character places a hand on another character's hand. When the two hands would touch a very bright spot would show. Have you encountered this issue, or was it a setting I had that was incorrect?
  17. Very cool and helpful. It is v er y neat to see just the animation without all the bells and whistles.
  18. At first I wasnt excited about this movie. But as more trailers and post like yours I am ready to see it! Thanks for sharing
  19. Thanks David. I am trying some new lighting and will post soon
  20. Interesting study. what are the render times with AO? What was the render time with the sphere? We are using a sphere as well and some of the frame renders are very large in time. Steve
  21. Thanks David. I will break this down. I will be honest. I did not know you could add lighting to ao. Thank you for posting this, as I was wondering how you were able to achieve the results! I think the results are wonderful
