  1. As we begin rendering scenes we are having issues with net render. All the buildings and props are set as action objects, the ability to turn on and off the objects with a pose. The objects render fine in AM but when we send the project to the netrender farm none of the objects render. We also notice that the time to load the files on the net render slaves are way to fast for the size of the project. This is a huge problem. As soon as net render is involved then no rendering of the set is possible. Steve
  2. I really like this. I could use something along this lines later. Thank you
  3. Excellent stuff David. The room looks great!!
  4. Thanks, the studio is really my theater room converted temp until we get the voices done. I have contracted the local sheet metal union to build me a light weight sound proof area. I saw a mechanical room in a high rise that they had recently sound proofed, it was incredible. And with the way they can bend light weight metal into a strong wall it will be interesting to see what they come up with. The walls will have the backing board and the walls will be perforated and then 2" of sound foam. Basically it will wrap around the artist as they read their lines. I have a eight foot by 7 area off the back of the theater room that will house this feature. Right now it is housing the render farm. I have a climate controlled shop in the back that will soon become a host for my render farm. As my son's ability and talent, music wise, evolves the "studio will evolve into a music studio I am sure. Steve
  5. Recording voices for the project today. It has been fun setting up the "studio" and bringing the folks in for the sessions. Here are a couple of shots from the gopro Steve
  6. Thanks Robert Did you get me email?
  7. Re ran the test after installing correct drivers 1:48
  8. Rodney in my face rig I did as you suggeted. I think David does as well
  9. I finally got the new machine stable. I loaded AM and check it on the About Screen what does 18lAVX mean? Of course 18l is the version but what is AVX? Advanced Vector Extensions, is this better than the SSE4 Steve
  10. I7 5930, 16 gb ddr4, AMD R290
  11. X99 chipset, with a I7 5930 6 core 2011 v3 processor 3.5ghz oc with corsair 110i liquid cooler, corsair vengeance oc 16gb ddr4 ram, ssd drives, with amd r9 270 display adapter. With this setup i have had to buy all new components as the motherboard is very particular. I will post the teapot render later tonight. Edit: I have replaced the AMD R9 with a NVIDIA 960ti
  12. Planning works. Make sure you plan for issues. I have been down for a few days. On a whim and maybe a little craziness i bought parts to build a new computer. I have had them sitting to side waiting on some time. The other day i tried to start AM and my license was up. So i started scrambling to get the new machine going. Well since i did not make a plan, i had to spend more than i was wanting. Anyway. Here is a shot on Win 7 rating. Bought a lot of nice things. Hoping to see a render test tonight
  13. William Very nice! I love the zebra! Great stuff for Will
  14. William i know i hate the topic too. But i just keep going. This program works for me, i have tried most of the others and have stayed right here, and happy i have
  15. I think I told you Will, the Kong tutorial was the video that convinced me to stay with AM. i was so frustrated and I got the Sig graph video, and wow, I watch that section of Kong over and over. Finally i got it. Thanks again for doing it!
  16. looked pic finallly mirror plug has to be exact or it will copy the leg. Mack you solved mine with this issue
  17. Paul on the mirror plug in make sure you type Right Left not right left. Same thing happened to me
  18. Thanks Douglas! I am at a decision point on skin and other rendering issues. I am happy with the SSS settings on her, the hair is almost there, now I have applied SSAO and getting soft renders that I like. Once the face rig is in place I will apply her make up. I have a few smudges on the render that what I believe is the transparent apron. I will test my theory later. Steve
  19. Second Lesson Learned Never be afraid to ask for help! Chris and I are facing a hurdle in our project. A hurdle of realizing how big a task we have placed in front of us. Time, family, other interests loss of sleep working on a pose for three hours, life... Many things pull you in many different directions. One of the issues was something simple and any other day I probably could have solved it on my own but I finally asked for help. Collaborating with some one like Chris, who has been a stable and calming influence, allows me to ask questions. I have learned a great deal about AM and my abilities through this project. Some I would not have known if I had not asked the questions. So thank you Chris for putting up with me and all my issues. The hurdle is there but I feel better that there is someone I can bounce my thoughts off to get me going in the right directions. Help is out there for those who are not afraid to ask. This forum contains some very talented people who are eager to help. Lesson Learned.
  20. I look forward to the day when Bertram is in the break room or outside in the smoking area. I really like the new look and would love to see the settings you choose in MuHair. His face reminds me of one of my family members Anyway David looking forward to the day when Bertram is moving. Steve
  21. Paul as I learn more about rigging, the more I have no clue about. That is when I get into trouble. Instead of asking and being patient for the answer, I cause trouble for myself. While I may stumble across a solution most of the time I just mess things up. So with this lesson learned i will continue to post lessons throughout the course of this project.
