  1. Hey Mark, just voted! That poster looks great!
  2. Gene, great model! Looks like fun. You might try lightening his skin tone a little. It can still be green, but give him some highlights or contrast. Great start though!
  3. Mark, it sounds like you're just in a lull. This is a nice image but you didn't seem to be really taken with it, just using it for practice, and that's fine! But I hope the response to this one picture isn't what's making your decision for you.
  4. It seemed to register my vote okay.
  5. Hey I voted on this awhile ago, is this the same competition? I'll vote again if I can.
  6. Nice image! I feel your pain though, I've recently felt like I need to spend more time with my guitar and just last week took it for the first repair/maintenance in (mumbly-mumble) years, having the bridge fixed and neck straightened. I'll make you a deal: I'll spend more time on my guitar if you spend more time here on the forum! Deal? Deal!
  7. Wow, this kind of character without rotos... I'll have to check out Barry's tutes. Nice work, Mark, and I think you'll find some way to use this character.
  8. Her butt looks a little high and squarish in the back view, but otherwise, nice work and nice detailing where it counts. Nice face with lots of character. The shoulder/armpit area looks good.
  9. Gene, I left a comment over there. Nice work all around. I look forward to more!
  10. Me vote funny! It appeared to count my vote even though I wasn't logged in. It said "Yay!"
  11. Ashamed to say I'm just seeing this for the first time, Mark. Well done! This is the challenge I tried to do, but it was way beyond my skills. I'd have voted if I was more on top of things. I had decided to sharpen my character skills when I got an animation commission a few months back, and thought the Eleven Second Club would be a good stepping stone, then the commission got canceled, so I didn't really have the incentive to make time for it. Again, nice work, and keep it up. I'll try to stay more abreast of it.

    Next Step

Wow, I've never seen Barry's tutes before. That looks like a great resource.
  13. Nice tests Robert! I like the second one a little better, but there's a lot of drama in both due to their simplicity I think.
  14. Here's Stefan Gross's E-Rebuild plugin, maybe will do the trick for you. http://www.sgross.com/plugins/plugin3/index.html
  15. Man, that is some beautiful work!
  16. Seems like an animated material would do it.
  17. Reall nice work so far! That modeling on the forks looks especially tricky. It will be nice to see how the procedural textures work with the decals. My feeling is that they'll mesh perfectly. Notice how I didn't mention the patch count?
  18. Yeah, how many of them could I fit in my wallet?
  19. I can't wait! I do hope you get the fish rockin'!
  20. this one looks pretty dark. I know there were some issues with the lighting on "TTR" but that looked fine to me. Most of this image disappears into the shadows.
  21. That's a beauty of a model, Eric! Nice work for a "contributor"!
  22. Targa files are indeed individual frames and are extremely usable by Animation Master. It's a *little* freaky the first time you work with them to find a folder full of two or three thousand files! But like Rusty sez, import as an image sequence and AM will be happy. It's also a good way to do final renders, as you can stop the render mid-way and not lose anything.
  23. Lots of good info here. rob thanks for the screenshot and movie, very clear and informative.

    Nidaros Cathedral

Stunning Stian. Are the roof/roof tiles a decal? Surely you're not modeling each tile are you? (Though I wouldn't be surprised!)
