  1. Love the ogre! He sings backup, I assume.
  2. Not technically a WIP just yet, but I wanted to start a placeholder thread. I'm going to have to put my "Nightcallers" work aside as it's the time of year when I have to start thinking about the company Christmas animation. I need to sketch out some ideas (I like to show three) and pitch them to my boss. Then it's off to the races. As long as it's creative and catchy, she's pretty flexible (see: the Christmas Snail) and likes me to have fun with it. This year I'm determined to center it on actual CHARACTER ANIMATION, yes I said it. So that's what I'll be pitching. Now I just need to come up with some ideas!
  3. What Mark said. You can't take anything for granted when it comes to pixels and their shapes when converting from one app to another.
  4. Hey Mark, just voted! That poster looks great!
  5. Gene, great model! Looks like fun. You might try lightening his skin tone a little. It can still be green, but give him some highlights or contrast. Great start though!
  6. Mark, it sounds like you're just in a lull. This is a nice image but you didn't seem to be really taken with it, just using it for practice, and that's fine! But I hope the response to this one picture isn't what's making your decision for you.
  7. It seemed to register my vote okay.
  8. Hey I voted on this awhile ago, is this the same competition? I'll vote again if I can.
  9. Nice image! I feel your pain though, I've recently felt like I need to spend more time with my guitar and just last week took it for the first repair/maintenance in (mumbly-mumble) years, having the bridge fixed and neck straightened. I'll make you a deal: I'll spend more time on my guitar if you spend more time here on the forum! Deal? Deal!
  10. Wow, this kind of character without rotos... I'll have to check out Barry's tutes. Nice work, Mark, and I think you'll find some way to use this character.

Not at all! have fun and I look forward to seeing some of these in WIP's in the next couple of months!

Don't mention it! Let me know if that .zip file is complete, sorry but I didn't check it to make sure all the decals and materials made it in.

It took me awhile to locate and view this topic for some reason. Here's a screen shot and a .zip file just in time for the holiday season! Hey, that rhymes! ChristmasProps.zip
  14. Her butt looks a little high and squarish in the back view, but otherwise, nice work and nice detailing where it counts. Nice face with lots of character. The shoulder/armpit area looks good.
  15. Gene, I left a comment over there. Nice work all around. I look forward to more!
  16. Me vote funny! It appeared to count my vote even though I wasn't logged in. It said "Yay!"
  17. Ashamed to say I'm just seeing this for the first time, Mark. Well done! This is the challenge I tried to do, but it was way beyond my skills. I'd have voted if I was more on top of things. I had decided to sharpen my character skills when I got an animation commission a few months back, and thought the Eleven Second Club would be a good stepping stone, then the commission got canceled, so I didn't really have the incentive to make time for it. Again, nice work, and keep it up. I'll try to stay more abreast of it.

    Next Step

Wow, I've never seen Barry's tutes before. That looks like a great resource.
  19. Nice tests Robert! I like the second one a little better, but there's a lot of drama in both due to their simplicity I think.
  20. Here's Stefan Gross's E-Rebuild plugin, maybe will do the trick for you. http://www.sgross.com/plugins/plugin3/index.html
  21. Man, that is some beautiful work!
  22. Seems like an animated material would do it.
  23. Reall nice work so far! That modeling on the forks looks especially tricky. It will be nice to see how the procedural textures work with the decals. My feeling is that they'll mesh perfectly. Notice how I didn't mention the patch count?
  24. Yeah, how many of them could I fit in my wallet?
  25. I can't wait! I do hope you get the fish rockin'!
