  1. Den, Nice to know there's no real rush, thought I do want to see it through to completion.......smile, Now I feel I have a less hard time with modeling mechanical things, like some of my past models CSS Hunley submarine ,Stagecoach,Conastoga wagon, and at present working on a castle and a airplane, none of which use great modeling technics...LOL...........I have modeled, a horse, a pegasus....and that half human half man creature ,sorry forgot its mythological name at the moment, and also a Chicken man model for a music video of sorts I did.....along with an old barn, old farm type house....once again nothing to brag about..but I did finish them to some degree............As far as animating human/animal models..I usually have fits...I have done walf cycles, a horse gallop and jump, ChickenHumans dancing? playing musical instrument, and a creature flying..all of which are/were very amateurish.... It would feel good to be apart of your project, starting off simplish for me and see where it goes from there, I do have a seldom used desktop PC that could be used for rendering tests if you run low on rescorses in that area. Im always willing to "attempt" to learn more, medication do slow me down some in that area. Ill check your site out to see if I can get a feel of exactly whats your going for, and look forward to more detail on the project when available. Thanks, Michael
  2. Steve, Those are great looking bump wrinkles....I did Mikes tut and found if very infornative also, but I have yet to apply it to so0mrthing of mine, yet! Thanks for showing your work, Michael
  3. I started this thread in another forum section....but here is the clip showing whats happening..... Im not even sure if its caused by the boolean.....Ill remove it and try another render tonight..... I have a model of a castle Im working on, The walls of the castle are enclosed so a boolean cutter can cut out a doorway (i have a shape of a doorway as a named group with a bone set as a boolean cutter) it works fine at certain camera angles when rendered in the Chor. but at other camera angles the floor group (below the wall) or some of its patch areas will become transparent showing whats underneath....Ive set the floor group with decals, materials and just straight surface property colors, and they all get this happening.... If I can remember Ill rerender tonight and post a clip, I just cant put it in words clearly even for me and Ive seen it...LOL Thanks, Michael Boolean_Castle_Doorway_test.mov
  4. Den, Before I say "count me in" I just want to find out more, if possiable and let you know where I stand as an animator and modeler. First ,I like the story line...interesting to me. You wouldn't be taking me away from Oz. (literally of figuratively) If your a professional at 3D, you probably would not be satisfied with my work.I'm a hobbiest and I do AM in the wee hours of the morning while at work. I do have medical problems that could land me in the hospital at any time and take me away from the project for days to weeks at a time and Im also on medications that effect my thought processes. So with all that said Im guessing if would like me involved..it would probaly be best on a limited basis. Thanks, and good luck , Michael
  5. I'll have to give this a try at work tonight...Im guessing the project you supplied will have all that is needed? Thanks, Michael

  8. "you could stretch the character's cp's in a pose and animate the stretching via the sliders" Thats a nice way to get the stretching effect.........I had thought about constraining the feet and hands to some invisiable spot ,but then couldnt figure out the rest...LOL.....I like your way... Michael
  9. Great!!!...Oh man those were scary looking !!! That belongs in a movie.....I picture a blow to the chest by some super hero....now if that character was rubber man (the one getting hit) lets see could you make it where his arms, legs and neck stretch somewhat from the torso as the main body is knocked back from that super hero blow to the chest......thoae clips have made my mind active... Michael

  13. Well Ken, you have sure gone to town on this thread.....very impressive..Ive stopped by now and then and felt it was time to update my reply, These models of yours sure do say alot without speaking a word. Speaking of which have you attempted to put a voice to your models/animations. I'm not sure how you would accomplish such a task, unless you voice act too..which wouldn't surprize me... Absolutly great stuff... Michael
