  1. I have forgotten how to create a new library Can someone please tell me how to do this? I don't need to know how to add objects to an existing library, but how to create a completely new library. Thanks,
  2. Oh no. No rocken the boat Way to go Gene and Myron!
  3. That's a nice looking logo. The swoopy lines could be done with particles in a separate render pass, then blur them a bunch in post. But I think your solution worked very well and was probably a little easier.
  4. Well, there are a lot of things you can do, but to make it as simple as possible: Make the Specular Color white and the Specular Size maybe 25% or something. Make it Reflective. Add something in the Chor for the surface to reflect. Another way to get reflections is to apply an Environment Map to the surface to fake reflections.
  5. Which actio are you trying to apply? Does it have a ".act" extension? Create a new project. Import your model. Make a new Action. When you are asked which model to use for the action, choose the model you imported. Move some bones around in the action. Save your project. Close the action. Make a new choreography. Drag your model into the choreography. Drag the action you just made onto the model. Does it work?
  6. It sounds to me like you are running out of RAM. An image of that size would take a LOT of RAM. Plus, those gigantic decal images will eat RAM like a kid eats candy on halloween. 300dpi for a *banner* is ridiculous. 150 dpi should be plenty. What are the dimensions in inches? Try rendering at 2550 x 2400 and up-sizing it. When I have to make posters and such (except for fine art works) I design the poster in Photoshop or InDesign, with placeholders for the content that must be rendered in A:M. Then I render only those elements at the exact size I need (just for the element, not the whole poster). The I assemble everything back in Photoshop or InDesign. That is the most reliable way I have found for working with very large layouts. For fine art works that must be printed at the highest resolution possible, I place the camera so it only sees 1/4 of the whole scene, and I aim it as -straight-on as possible. It also helps to change the camera type to "Orthogonal" if I can get away with it. Then I move the camera so on the next frame it covers another quadrant, and one the next frame, another quadrant etc. Then I use the Panorama stitching tools in Photoshop to assemble the final image.
  7. What is the file name the error message refers to, including the extension? Whenever I get an error message that says that, I am usually trying to load some kind of file A:M can't read. Another thing you can try is to create a new embedded Action. Make it embedded so you don't have to worry about any file path issues. Just move a couple of bones and save the project. Then apply that test action to your model in a chor. Does that action work?
  8. what *exactly* does the error message say? And what is the file name the error message refers to?
  9. The MirrorBone plugin will do that. http://www.sgross.com/plugins/index.html Instructions are here: http://www.sgross.com/plugins/plugin18/index.html If you just want to duplicate a bone hierarchy without mirroring it, [ctrl]-drag the parent bone in the container and release the mouse button somewhere else in the bone hierarchy.
  10. With your choreography open, hit the [space] bar to refresh the choreography. If that doesn't work, save your project. Then close and reopen the project.
  11. OK, well try this. (I don't have Win 7 so things might be a little different) Uninstall all versions of A:M that may have gotten installed. Go into Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and make sure there are no items named Animation Master. Double-click on your "My Computer" icon on the desktop to open it. Click on the "Folders" button to split the window into two panes. The left pane should show your drives. The right pane should show the contents of whatever drive is selected in the left pane. This is also a way to bypass any autorun scripts. In the left pane, select your CD/DVD drive, then navigate to Setup/Windows/ Then double click on Setup.exe to install the software off the CD. You will need your serial number to complete the installation. Once that is installed, run AM. Does it start up?

  13. First, you should assign all the control points to bones and do Control Point Weights and/or Fan Bones before you go any further. The rig controls will not appear to work if the control points in the mesh are not assigned to any bones. Next: "Thumb A" bone begins in the hand, a couple centimeters from the wrist and extends to the first knuckle. The other two Thumb bones are placed like the Finger bones. Z Rotation is variable. The roll handles for the thumb bones must point in whatever direction the thumb is intended to curl. Usually, that's about 45 degrees." For your model, you might try setting the Z rotation for each of the thumb bones to 40/-40 degrees. The left thumb bones, 40 degrees. The right thumb bones, -40 degrees. It works best if, from the Top View, all the thumb bones in one hand form a straight line. See the picture on page 7 in the installation instructions. Also, your "Carpal" bones in the hands do not look like the pictures in the installation instructions. (Page 7). Next: Follow the directions on page 10 of the installation instructions. After you do that. Open the exported model in A:M and hide the "Body Controls" null in the model so you do not accidentally select it when you are animating. Hope that helps
  14. Alles Gute zum Geburtstag Fuchur
  15. No. You should follow the installation instructions for the LightRig here: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?act=a...st&id=41298 And you should read through the threads here: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showforum=170 Most likely your questions are already answered in those threads.
  16. Another way to use a rotoscope of a video clip is to import the clip (image sequence) into A:M, then drag it from the container and drop it on the camera in the Choreography. You can make it show up either in front of, or behind the elements in your scene.
  17. Boy, that brings back memories http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YUuyzQDmjY
  18. Here is a particle hair tutorial. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29738 It has been awhile since I wrote it, but I think I covered how to taper the hair. Another thing you may want to search for is the MUHAIR shader. It is a render shader you can apply to a model group which has a hair material on it to create a different appearance for the hair. Unfortunately, it has a ton of settings and I don't understand them all ... and I don't think anyone has written a tutorial on what all the settings do.
  19. You can check out the rig in this lamp. It has been awhile since I did it, so I can't remember what I did, but it seemed to work OK at the time. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...408&hl=lamp
  20. Nice one Matt! Love the camera work and the overlays, and of course the hair. The girl's hands separate from the triangle in a few highly visible places. The breasts seem a little too stretchy. They get kinda scary in a couple of places. Her butt cheeks stick waaaay out in a few places, but maybe you're into that sort of thing It looks like you put a lot of work into this.
  21. Very nice Stian. The material looks good enough to me. Very professional looking.
  22. Here is a tutorial that covers the basics of the Bone Falloff Weights http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29734
  23. Happy Birthday! You don't look a day over 30 ...
