  1. like that? CloudSprite3_Brown.zip
  2. that's the truth. I found myself re-doing each stroke about four or five times with a tablet. I got a 18" Cintiq off ebay a couple of years ago and like it quite a bit. I found it had a rather brownish cast to its color by default. Maybe they are trying to be like paper? But I've cranked the blue on my color control panel undo that some. My main complaint is the lag between the pen and the cursor.
  3. The ~ key works here. Press it while you hold the LMB down.
  4. that looks snazzy. I'm not familiar at all with the original piece you mention, but your painting skill ought to serve you well in your models.
  5. Welcome back. You're not forgotten! Yup, throw some mud and grease on that thing. Those used to be quite common out in West Texas but not so much anymore.
  6. When I look at the OBJ in a text editor I don't see any reference to a bitmap filename. Is it there?
  7. Welcome to the forum! I haven't had success with that when I've tried either, but don't know enough about export to polygons to know what to look for. The OBJ exporter has that screen where it talks about renaming textures so it must be aware of them and it seems to be doing something... Hopefully someone OBJ aware will chime in here.
  8. Use a bump map instead of a material, and put your transparency map in its alpha channel. Test the concept out with just a simple painted bump pattern.
  9. Can the deadline be a few weeks later? Jan 5 is only 7 weeks away and there's two holidays during that.
  10. I finally got that review up and it only took me nine months.
  11. No, we want them! I can retime them in Aftereffects. Was originally rendered at 30 or 24 fps?
  12. Mark, I guess I'll need a shadow pass to go with the bus movies you gave me. It will look like pure white with the shadow of the bus passing through but without the bus visible. thanks
  13. Matt, can i get those in either a n image sequence or a MOV that doesn't use H264? My After Effect will only run with Quicktime 6 and Quicktime 6 can't read H264 movies. If they have sound you can make them a "Photo-JPEG" codec quicktime which will compress nice and still allow you to have sound and cn be read by QT6. Edit: I just need the second one. I have the uncompressed version of the first movie downloaded already. Edit 2: Actually, I can re export a JPEG sequence from your movie in QT7 and that works ok. However, i notice the sound is compressed with A-law. Can you give me an uncompressed wave?
  14. Spleen... Those movies are 30 fps, do you really mean them to be 24 fps?
  15. I didn't completely see the problem you were pointing to. I see the phantom portions now. Is there bump detail in those areas? Get rid of that. Make it flat 128 grey in those parts. Possibly the renderer is trying to highlight those bumps just like it would do bumps on transparent glass that were catching the light somehow. Alternatively you may need to add an alpha channel to the bump map to limit its presence to yoru actual wing surface. Your opacity map could probably be copy and pasted for that.
  16. Hey that's looking pretty cool! Make the image flat in those areas? (no detail)
  17. I was thinking they were like the wings on a Valkyrie helmet You should have some way for them to fold over and conceal the stone on the top and then unfold away from it so laser beams can shoot out.
  18. I love that! I like that it animates. I was very much a Wagner "Ring" fan when I was a teenager. -I think the needle would need to be on top or the wearer would be sticking himself, no? Or maybe it should stick directly down out of the bottom. -Are those wings on the top? I think those need some thickness.
  19. They're listed at the top. Pick one, communicate with the artist to make sure they haven't already done sound, then communicate wit them to make sure what you're dong fits their vision.
  20. Oops, sorry, I missed your audio version, I've go it now. that's one down!
  21. thanks, both of you! I should note that the numerical settings for every filter were eyeball guesstimates. Larger or smaller numbers may work in different situations like if the maps were a higher res.
  22. That's wonderful. I'm glad you didn't give up.
  23. Here's another candidate, this is my favorite so far... BeakCornerE.mdl That's a hook in the very corner of the mouth.
  24. Actually what i showed there wasn't radically different from what you had. Here are two less-splines alternatives...
  25. the spline coming out of the corner of the mouth can be ended in a hook pretty quickly.
