  1. Hey that was great. What I would love to see (and probably many others) is a DVD of all your work with some production sequences/notes/footage/samples etc on actually putting a project together from initial pitch to final delivery. Most of us have no idea (well I have no idea) - I'd fork out $50US for one (in english or at least with english sub titles) Cheers
  2. Ahhh - so you are going to compete with Maas are you. Maas' animations are reasonable but a little too 'clinical' for my liking - but that could be a NASA requirement My only real concern with the image is the proximity of Mars to Earth. If we were that close we'd be travelling there daily I'd also recommend softening the edge of Mars just a little. It doesn't have much atmosphere - but it does have some. What type of engines are those? The housing for them doesn't look big enough. Are they Ion drives? If so the 'exhaust' should be much bluer. The small solar panels should be slightly reflective and the pattern no quite so obvious. Are the big panels additional solar panels? If so then they need the same texture/treatment as the small ones. Also the base of the bell shaped engine port looks too small. Considering the trust that these 'main engines' produce they would fall off. The main capsule seems to be only 1/2 textured and the surface seems to be a little too rough though who knows what new surfacing options NASA are developing (well your Dad probably does ) Cheers
  3. Wow - Mike - Very nice work. Cheers
  4. Thanks Chad. You know you can download my Space Marines don't you? Cheers
  5. Ooooooh - Yes please :-) Cheers
  6. Hey Chris, Are those sharp creases done on purpose? I would have preferred something a little more subtle. Nice menacing looking character though - and welcome back :-) Cheers
  7. Cool, I have rigged SM Seargent and Soldier models - we could put together a neat battle scene/animation Cheers
  8. The chest area looks a little like a male chest with a couple of breasts stuck on each side. You need to smooth this area out and have the skin of the breasts merge closer to the centreline. Natural breast aren't just stuck on, treat them as weighted areas of flesh on the chest ie partially fill a ballon with water and see how it acts on the 'skin' of the ballon. Note that the decal is not lined up with the nipples. The clavical (?) bone structure at the top of the chest/base of the neck, should have a little separation. The hips are a little too narrow and should be obviously wider than the ribcage. The bikini lines looks drawn on rather than natural. Try to get the lines even and add some bluring along the edges. Would be good to see some side and back views including shaded wireframes. Overall it is a pretty good model. Cheers
  9. The invisible woman - most impressive model and texturing Cheers
  10. AND his mouth looks incomplete. Other than than - a definite flashback to the 70's Cheers
  11. Archive the renders - not the movie.
  12. If your old AVI's were rendered using INDEO compressor and you are running under XP SP1 or 2 then thats the trouble. Microsoft stopped distributing the compressor with XP SP1 (and you'll have to go to the INDEO website and by the compressor - or go to an old version of Windows machine! Your longest day is my shortest Cheers
  13. And here's me thinking they were going to replace all those tired old artist images with new fresh ones - those old ones are almost ancient history I'm pretty sure they will all work with 11.1. The only changes I have noticed in v12 are to Compositing and Cloth. Cheers
  14. An Australian/English colloquial term meaning to teach you things you already know how to do. Cheers
  15. Hi Peter, There is no right or wrong answer here - they are simply options - each has their own strengths and weakness's. And I am certainly not trying to teach you to 'suck eggs' - just offering suggestions that may suit others who read this thread! Cheers
  16. My comments weren't aimed at someone already 20 minutes into production - it was about how to set up a project. The point being that you only set up only what you need for each shot and not necessarily and entire set. Whatif's can go on forever. Whatif I now want a window in a wall and be able to see a beautiful vista outside....... Do I 'struggle' throughout a project for all the 'just in case' situations? If you are rendering reflections then you only need an image of the set behind you - not all the set items themselves. Designing a shot - Thats what your storeyboards are for. Note that I am not condeming anyone for buidling and using an entire set - I'm just making suggestions for simplifying things through preplanning! Cheers
  17. Well: 1. Why 10 Cameras? Are there 10 shots? If so create 10 Chors with 1 camera each. 2. Are all the lights used for each shot? If not - see 1 3. Are all the models visible in each shot? If not - see 1 Do one thing at a time, keep it simple and do not try to do everything in one project/chor etc. To simplify it, copy the current chor 10 times (keep a master). In each chor delete what is not required for that shot. Cheers
  18. It depends what you have done. If you have already rendered the scene then import the rendered images and apply the post effect to the images in the image folder then right click and render out again from there. If you are doing it for the render then apply it to the camera you are rendering from. Cheers
  19. This is a video card/driver/render type selection problem. It happens to me on half of my machines but only when I have Direct3D selected as the real time render engine in A:M. Cheers
  20. Yes - you can add a new Post Effect > Tint (I think) and there is a Black and White default that you can choose. Cheers
  21. Nice model indeed. I don't think it's spline heavy but I am not too familiar with Anime facial animation. Now for the Anime hair Cheers
  22. Yes, a very nice model and there is nothing wrong with the splinage though you may wish to add/continue some splines on the corner of the eyes so you can animate some creasing. Lets see some facial tests (animation wise) next Cheers
  23. Very nice work indeed. Is it going to be a Yeti v's Chewie movie Cheers
  24. I agree with Gary but this may be your intention.... The only thing I don't like is the cornder of the mouth - it's too symetrical. Play with the bias handles to have the teardrop shape curve down a little. Cheers
